I lived in Noosa for 6 years, and used to bodyboard at Main Beach, and on the points. It was some of the best years of my life and I had some epic sessions there.
Back in 1976 I was 9 and on a surfmat with a pointed nose and two fins attached I surfed a 20+foot wave (confirmed by the surfies at the time, I was like their mascot lol), and there was 30 footers rolling in but they never let me on one of those beasts, mum may still have the photo , I saw it once years later and was like , well EFF me that's why I have all these niggling injuries lmao go hard or go home.

bloke on the red twinny was absolutley killing it that day. Anyone know who it was? Best surfer I saw out at boiling pot, hands down.
