I look at the photo of him I have printed out. I look at the painting of him I painted myself. I crashed into storm clouds and now I feel like I'm breaking like glass when I come home into a home without him. These tears are never seen by anyone else but only one can see these tears I cry when I am alone at night and it's him, a ghost now watching over me. It's him, the one who made me want to actually actually live my life, the one who helped me get through the storm clouds without a scratch, and the one who kept me from breaking like glass. Now I don't know how to live my life without breaking down in the middle of the night. I don't know how to smile with ease anymore. I don't know what true happiness feels like anymore. All I know are the tears I cry over my Pomeranian, my dog, that's been gone for years, since 2019. Death tore us apart. The death of him almost had me to a point where I didn't want to live anymore. I was so close to the edge of it all. I was ready to just go and meet him but I remembered our promise. Our promise keeps me going even when I don't want to. It's the only one I vow to never break. I won't break the promise to live my life no matter what, I won't give up, I won't go down without a fight, I won't because he'd want me to live my life even if he's no longer in it. I will try my best at everything I love and go too far into doing what I love because it's what he would want. He would want me to keep going even though I sometimes break down, break like glass, when no one sees me. My happy ending I dreamed of is gone but it doesn't mean that I can't create a new one with his ghost at my side watching over me every step of the way. They can see me smile. They can see me look so happy but what they don't really see is that I'll break down like a piece of glass at the end of the day when I'm all alone in my room again. No one can replace him... No one can bring him back... No one sees the truth... No one sees my fear of losing another in my life. It breaks me into shards but I still continue on... I'll break like a piece of glass from time to time and don't we all break from time to time, some more than others, some less than others, but we all have a broken shard hidden away keeping us alive, keeping everything together the best way it can. (Something I wrote when I somehow remembered my dog while listening to this)
