The original version was unique and brilliant. Sort of a combination of energy, enthusiasm, sadness, exasperation, hope and vigor.
Seems like it has shifted to an emphasis on minor chords and helplessness. Also very artistic, but it is interesting to me that she goes this route as she gets older.
I'm not being cynical, to each her own, it is art after all. I wonder if she is happy. I hope she is and I would like to see that reflected in the more "mature" version of the song. Just sayin. Don't hate on me, I still like it!
Dear Karl, many thanks for your comment. We might be able to explain the choice of the musical arrangement. Linda, Cassandra and Skye decided just one day prior to the event, that they would perform together. As we already had booked the Kaiser Quartet for another part of the show, it was a rather spontaneous and logic decision to perform the song in that version :-)

Ich war überrascht wie sich Linda in der ersten Strophe reduziert geben konnte. Ist vielleicht nicht ihre Stärke, war aber für einen kurzen Moment stark. Cassandras Einsatz wirkt sehr mechanisch routiniert und versprüht einen Hauch Langeweile in Rekordzeit. Skye verleiht 5 Sekunden Seele bis Linda sich entschlossen drauf und drüber stellt. Fades Streichen vom Kaiser Quartett und langsam zum Ende. Hier passiert gar nichts was berührt. Das ist es, was mich am meisten beeindruckt.
Hör doch noch mal genau hin. Ist sicherlich alles Ansichtssache aber da legt jeder alles rein, was er/sie hat.
