In our country, the common design of the septic tank is a two-chamber concrete.. Unlike the design in the video, the midpart should be fully enclosed with only a connecting pipe provided. The first chamber is a digestive chamber, the second one is the leaching chamber. The reason why the midpart is closed is so that the sludge will get to the bottom of the tank upon the influent of wastes.. And then the clean/gray water will go to the leaching chamber as a final effluent. All in all, thanks for this video... I learned new infos..
I put my system in 1975, I had it pumped in 1992, six people living in the house with a thousand gallon tank. 150 ft of fields. I had it pumped again in 2013, still working fine. at $325 every two years to have it pumped is a waste of money.
We had only pumping ares once since living here until recently. Had needed to pump it multiple times this last year. Finally fixed the problem today.....hopeful. There was a hole in the old concrete baffle and so the outlet go clogged. We unclogged it with a snake and bypassed the old baffle and replaced it with one made out of pbc. Hopefully this fixes the problem and we won’t have to worry about the thing again.
The average cost for city sewage is $15.00. Its going to cost us 500 dollars to pump our tank. You want people to pump the tank every two years? That's 1000 dollars in 4 years. When using city sewage would cost around 720 in 4 years...And with city sewage the waste isn't just sitting in a tank in your yard somewhere and you don't have to call anyone to dig a hole in your yard either....
Not pumping a tank makes as much sense as not changing the oil in your car. You don't change the oil in your vehicle regularly because the oil wears, you change the oil to remove the sludge. Trust me or not, keep going with that mind set and one day soon you will have a large repair bill for the replacement of your absorption field.
+EnigmaHood It's cost efficient. Connecting a house to a sewage system hundred miles away is costly. And septic system doesnt pollute nature. septic system is the best solution for low density population areas. I'm shocked you relate septic system with underdevelopment. on the contrary, non-developed countries dont use septic system. their villages, remote areas have holes dug to use as toilets.
Sasapesso S I'm not an expert on waste disposal so it's possible what you're saying is true for low density areas, however using septic tanks for city areas like they do in Dubai, is definitely not cost efficient.
It can actually smell a lot better than it did in the first 5 minutes. But sadly, that's where science takes a halt and politics takes over. Chew on that for a bit

This is much needed in our country.

How big is yours? They're not all the same size (I presume)
Is it a “filter” or a baffle?
Or $500 every two years in some states.
ours has been installed since 1946 and has been pumped exactly 6 times so far and still works perfectly fine.

I wanna drive the big shit truck

You sound uncannily like Joe Biden. If so, looks like you got your wish
Hope you don't mind me sharing, great video!

A municipal sewage system isn’t available in all areas, that’s why septic systems exist. Obviously it’s preferred to be connected to a sewage system.
An equal amount will exit the tank through an "outlet T"? Did I get that right?
yes but you wouldn't notice as you only use 1bucket water after pooping & it does affect hieght of water in huge tank.
is the pipes in the septic that goes into the drain field called a baffel?
The baffle is the wall that divides the septic tank but you probably know that by now😁😂

You aren't a professional mechanic or plumber are you?
so its not wisefull to have a septic tank at rainy places?
It should be pumped every 3-5 years. Not need it every 2 years!!!
Honey wagon
Gravy Train
doodie
this is a shitty situation..Pun intended
I'm shocked that this is still used over a sewer system in developed countries.

+EnigmaHood whats wrong with it?
tom slick Because it has to be emptied on a regular basis. It's not as efficient or cost effective as a sewer system.
EnigmaHood good point
What would 2 years of crap look and smell like ? 🤮 so disgusting yucky.
