Wow that turned out pretty nice. If you use a bead blaster combined with a wire wheel you can remove all the chrome, polish it then either nickle plate it or re-chrome it. Either way the cross over ball shoot looks like it will be just fine. For some of those long skinny parts you can use a plastic pasta/spaghetti holder. Thanks for sharing Joe. I actually had to do a rust removal job the other day on a USB connector of a gaming keyboard that I received from a friend of mine. Had to do the el-cheapo route using Coca-Cola and aluminum foil to scrub the rusted connector with. Surprisingly took off the rust with just a little work. Crazy. :D
For final polishing, Autosol is great. Hand polishing is labor intensive and takes time, but really works if you want clean and shiny metal. … great for anything that the ball comes into contact with.
Take a look at nickle plating some of the items after rust removal. It's quite inexpensive and very easy to do. And the parts can be easily polished to a bright and shiny finish.
I don't know for sure Chris but this Evapo Rust stuff is completely non toxic I doubt you'd have any problem mixing it with anything. Thanks for watching and good luck with your handcuffs!
I was watching this and thought, maybe get some PVC pipe and angle fittings to sleeve that ramp in and fill it with evaporust. Just a thought and PVC doesn't cost too much and would be reusable. Get er done all in one night!
WOW! stuff works very well. Hats off to you for taking this project on. Most people don't know the hours upon hours spent doing a project like this!
Thanks Bobby Jack, see you on the next video!
Hey Ron I fix bicycles like you fix arcade games. I use fine grade steel wool to clean rust off chrome - works wonderful.

Almost everything cleaned up good enough (or we replaced it) that we didn't need to replate it so we were happy about that.
naval jelly works good also you brush it on and then wait.
It's looking better every video
Thanks Pez!
Props for the Lunar2 Eternal Blue Complete PS1 game in the display cabinet. Damn fine game.
I wish I had another one!

Luckily most of this stuff we were able to just get new to replace it (other than the ramp, but it cleaned up nice).
I seen people dip paper towels in evaporust and lay them over the area that they won’t to treat and it looks great.
That's how I did the center of the ramp, worked great.
Looking good! Hope you get this done before halloween. Should be an easy sale right before.
We think we will :)
Note you can buy the stuff he is using on amazon and you can get it in a 5 gallon bucket
I might have to do that next time!
I sprayed these old hand cuffs with wd 40...but am I able to mix the evapo rust if it still has wd 40 in the cuffs?

Looking good. Freddy ready before HallowWeen?
Hopefully!
This stuff works great! Though personally, I would have bought a big plastic tub at the store and do it all in one go
I forgot to pick one up :)

That would definitely work, anything that allows it to be all submerged would do the trick.
Ever heard of naval jelly, or steel wool (000 or 0000), or sandpaper ( 1500 or 2000 grit)
its awsome but if you can order new parts its be batter
Definitely!
