    Greetings! I discovered this game thanks to the Spiffing Brit. After giving it a try, I realized how enjoyable it was, even though I found myself quite lost. Seeking guidance, I turned to online resources and stumbled upon your playthrough. Yours was the only comprehensive and insightful walkthrough available. Your deep understanding of the game made watching a delightful experience.
    Over the past few days, I've been engrossed in your playthrough and just recently reached episode 22 (Full Release Playthrough). I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the exceptional playthrough and insightful commentary you've provided. Your grasp of the game's intricacies is truly commendable.
    I'm eagerly anticipating your second playthrough and the upcoming episodes. I felt compelled to leave this comment as I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you're a relatively small channel. Your dedication to your content shines through, and I have a great deal of admiration for your work. I'm looking forward to witnessing your channel's growth in the future!
    Thanks Looch!

    Hey Looch,
    Great tip in the other comment about language.
    I would also advise not to cut costs on new tech.
    Only when you have 5 stars.
    Then take things out.
    And once you have fans, if the review is anything other than 20-40% estimate, add features back in, until you get that minimum result as anything less, will result in a less than 30% game which puts you in contention for worst game of the year which will in turn, wipe out your fan base, early on.
    It's pretty brutal on Legendary.
    Even with contract games, take note of when you start them and how long it's taking your team to make them. You started School days on m4 w3 which meant you ran into a new month, making the game cost more and stopping you from making a profit on it. As your monthly salary gets added to the game cost when you do that.
    By the way. I don't think it's cheating to look up sliders. I wrote all mine down. If you don't like doing it just select random on the startup options but on Legendary, it's just ridiculous with random sliders on!
    Imagine a mechanic saying he can't fix your car because he doesn't remember what to do and he feels, looking at his notes would be cheating 😂
    Absolutely do your own engine. It's not much but eventually you can get some cash in, if the engine does well. What I might hold off on though, is your usual way of making engines for every genre.
    Research Subtopic and Subgenre asap and use contract games to gain stars in both quicker by mixing and matching, even if they don't go together. At least until you have 5 stars in them. That way, when you come to making your own game, you could have 5 stars in it even if you never made that topic before because you used it as a subgenre in contract games.
    I'd like to suggest making a couple of saves of your Legendary playthrough so if it all goes bad, people in the comments can offer tips and you can go back to an earlier save and apply those tips. That way you won't have to start from scratch each time.
    Your early game here is going really well. I would have probably 40 employees by now because I could never make it work with small amounts but you are. It's very interesting to watch 😀
    As your contracts grow in payment they will take longer to complete. Rather than not taking the contract, consider it time to expand your team. Programmers are the best for contracts.
    Congratulations on a great start 😀

    • @Loocharagaming
      @Loocharagaming  Год назад +3

      Wouldn't you run out of contract games to make if you have that many people this early? Good to know on the engine, I'll make one but not go too crazy like I typically do! Should I focus on getting QA soon or is not that big of a priority?

    • @Arkeli5
      @Arkeli5 Год назад +2

      @@Loocharagaming You can sometimes run out of contracts but I've never found it long enough that you would go bankrupt from it. Take a loan if you need, when contracts come back, do them, pay the loan back.
      You can start making your own games once you have 5 stars in the basics of even one genre/topic. You probably won't score that high and make your money back but you will have an income and can do contracts to try and cover the loss. It's all a balancing act at the start.
      You're doing very well with your team but I am a little worried you'll start to fall behind as more tech comes out. Not so much in the research but in the gaining of experience. Because as time goes by, more will be expected from your games and even contract games will demand higher scores. You're never quite 100% safe in Legendary, I found. Which is why I recommend keeping a few saves and not overwriting them so you can go back if needed.
      Regarding QA, that would be the first room I would unlock but don't start putting special features in right away.
      Instead use it for the bug fixing and some polishing.
      Also don't set your sliders to perfect at the start for graphics etc. Set them to fill the holes in your scores. Like design, sound, graphics, tech. The early game features tend to be balanced towards game design, meaning you don't need many game designers and should go more for programmers with some sound and graphics people.
      Using the sliders to have the dev room focus more on what you're coming up short on. Each milestone you hit will mean you'll probably have to score higher next time.
      So having 220 design while your sound is 64 and graphics is 68 and tech 99 will hinder your overall score. better to try and have them balanced as best you can. Try the sliders at 10, 30, 30, 30. Then just before you release the game, set them to what the perfect settings would be 50, 10, 10, 30 (Puzzle) for example.
      Thanks for putting up your Legendary attempts. It's really exciting 😀

    Like all of your series, I'll happily be watching, even if I don't comment.
    Even though I don't do Legendary, I'm fairly sure that the Loan amount you can get increases if you already have a loan, so you MIGHT be able to game the system a bit if you take a small loan and keep it. Again, IF I'm right about the maximum loan increasing if you have money borrowed. I could also be right for the wrong reasons and it's really that the game checks your "total" money amount and adds the loan on top of your current cash total (which consists of said loan) and increases the max loan that way.

    • @Loocharagaming
      @Loocharagaming  Год назад

      I've always assumed the max loan amount just goes up over time but it was 100% an assumption. I realize now I have no idea what actually causes it to go up. Might be worth looking into

    I've been putting things like water coolers and first aid cabinets out in the corridors to save space. It's easier to optimise too. I think I'd make an engine too... they do sell.

    I highly recommend that you disable all languages except for your characters main language until you start developing your own games. On contract games one language is sufficient. That should also help cut costs and start making profit sooner. Even once you start developing your own games, you can update the game to include all languages down the road.

      For me, it would be great if they added Mobile console dev and probably own OS and etc.; also, it would be more than awesome if it had a sort of future sense of console/software dev, because when you pass the current year in game (I know it's a lot of gameplay, but anyhow...) there is not much to do. I know this is primarily a game dev tycoon, but I still enjoy console dev so much ;)

      @Loocharagaming I made it into the 2nd episode last night and was like....uh oh. But I'm gonna keep watching to bounce ideas. I'm trying to 100% the steam achievements and only have the legendary ones left...(maybe the multi-player ones)
      I've made it to 2017 on one playthroigh, but all I do is contract games and short assignments, but I can not make my own games without going bankrupt or getting less than 10%. I even have production and it's just stagnant. Never enough to make me enough money.
