At least it’s not the same continental colors. They literally just put United instead of continental and called it a post merger livery. This livery is WAY better!
Nope. Our 1991 Continental colors are not gone till the last plane is painted. This beautiful historic livery is still alive and well today (and still on the slight majority of planes) And just turned 30 this year :)
@@javiersblog2083As of now 3 years after your comment only the 787-8 of United are in the Continental-United livery with the first to be repainted soon
The United airlines tulip, and legacy United are in the pages of history. Just like Northwest, Airtran, Midwest, America West, Pan AM, TWA ect. Thats just what it is
Honestly, argue with me if you want, but the Continental post merger is way better than the Evo blue. Sure, the Evo blue is good, but will never be as great at the Continental globe livery.
Normal turnaround time for a 737 is 7 days. If I remember correctly, this plane took a couple days longer. I was one of the mechanics working on that plane. The company hired private security to guard the hanger while it was being painted because United did not want any unauthorized personnel to see the new livery until it was unveiled to the CEO. Good times!
I don't like the new livery. They got rid of the gold which, to me, symbolized the glamour of flying. This new livery makes it seem like it's just a flying bus. Boring.
...but still it beats all pre-2010 United liveries going decades back, including their rip-off/"inspiration" of the '68 AA® livery. It took adopting the Continental® livery in 2010 (with modifications) before they found a both decent-looking & original one.
Similar to the mediocre service of most modern airlines, the livery changes encapsulated modern "style" over substance. Extra-large, plainer lettering over the Boeing portholes, light-blue replacing the regal gold 🌎 globe color, wavy & blue striping instead of straight & gold, loud & overblown coloring of engines, unnecessary changing of the belly color to (more of the) white color.

Now we’re talking
They took the CHEAP ROUTE . It's all about the COST of everything today!
I love the Continental livery and the United livery in the blue globe
I LOVE THE NEW UNITED AIRLINES LIVERY, I THINK IT IS THE BEST LIVERY THEY HAVE EVER DONE
...but that's not saying much... and the pre-1970's liveries were sharper than the tulip-contrived & 1990's crap that came afterwards.
@@charlesjwin yeah I know right
Well companies these days simplify their stuff to make it look cleaner
@@planesofhawaii I'd rather it look more pleasing to the eye, than "cleaner".
I like the yellow globe a lot better

It has changed multiple times since 1991

Yeah but the old livery wasn't modern

At least somewhat reminds of the great 2004 scheme
Long live the blue tulip
No joke tulip is my fav United livery.

What is your favourite livery? Mine has to be the continental merger livery
blue tulip but post merger livery is my second favorite. I dont like this one tbh
The old livery was absolutely perfect 😢
ikr
It was not perfect it looked weird. The new livery looks better!!!
@@AJsAviation the old one reminds me of my child hood and traveling with family
@@the_brick_bali9956 I get that
But it was a copy of continental

How many days did this actually take
Around 28 to 31
@@californiahighwaypatrol577 FOR 1 737!? OMG I THOUGHT IT TOOK LIKE A WEEK TO PAINT OVER A JET

It is just thr same livery but they just made more blue
True, and the gold line (now blue) is painted like the 787’s now

Looks so bad, perfect for United 👌
Dont agree but okay
spot on... captures their mediocrity, succinctly.
I strongly disagree I think it is the best livery they have done for a long time so @hwed 998 you are a son of an idiot
