Ppl complaining about how low the difficulty was. Who knows if she even plays this game. She was there to have a good performance since she is one of the singers of the song, not to show her amazing skills at the game. They could have used a pro of this game and just and just acted like it was her, but then ppl would have been like " I bet that's not even her playing, fcking liars " xD
I mean she did the dance for this at a giant live performance. She obviously isn't bad. She knows the song, so like.. Why is it so slow here? It doesn't match up with the song that's playing. It just feels super underwhelming. All it can be chalked up to is just poor choices.

Performing and dancing to a song and hitting little boxes in the right direction with an imaginary light saber are 2 completely different things o_o If she never played the game or she's just not that good at it she won't hit everything perfectly just because she knows the dance. I don't think that really has anything to do with it.
Edit: I obviously get what everyone dislikes about it. It's not the best video I've seen in my life either, just saying that you shouldn't expect that much from her.

This is the first time i watched the video & i already thought this is already amazing, having fun watching it, even thinking about they could make another MV/performance with this... Until i read the comments. Within a few seconds, mood for the vid went DOWN wtf. Seems like i have a really low expectation with the performance, huh? 😂😂😂
I am once a KPOP Fans & watched some performance, like those in Gayo Daejun; watching those idols dancing while singing or lip sync, and maybe interacting with the fans too. It's kinda hard to do, tbh. Especially if you put a dancing performance alongside hitting things like in Beat Saber. One need to sync the dance and the blocks, bcz they need to timed the move with the blocks whether it's in low difficulty or higher. It's already some pain syncing in low, let alone higher or max difficulty. Even the original dance by the professional dancer is not on max Beat Saber difficulty. So, i think, even if she remembers the dance, doesn't mean the move syncs with blocks, aka doesn't mean she can do a higher difficulty while performing too.
Again, for me, this is performance is enough to entertaining , for i don't really feel the song is really hype to the point it doesn't really set me on fire except for the rap part.

bloody hell, just because you can play a game on a certain difficulty does not mean everyone else has to, especially when she was putting on a performance as well as playing the game, this was more to just showcase the game and the song. as long as the person is having fun, you don't need to bring other people down for it.
I agree. I can play many songs on expert but I enjoy the music more on hard difficulty. I play beat saber almost every day and its great exercise. I don't even think of it like exercise. Have you tried Blue Sky? That one is really fun.

I mean, I agree if it wasn't for the fact most of these moves were created to replicate the actual dance. She should know the swing of the arms by heart and there's no reason for that part to be on easy. It no longer looked like the dance because of it, which feels weird. Would've been fine with her doing the rest on easy.

@@livesinalazywonderland4021 tbh you kinda dance automatically when playing Beat Saber, or at least, when you’re just starting out. As you progress I guess the harder songs have beatmaps that are a little unrealistic to dance to.
It’s cool, and I think people are just upset because they expected it to be cooler. Like, imagine if one of the singers was an actual gamer, playing on and actually doing well at the game, and performing well too.
But we can’t expect everyone to be perfect super humans that can do it all xD I certainly was hoping it would’ve been a little more impressive, but I am by no means disappointed! at least they’re trying to connect with the community that enjoyed the song they participated in somewhat.

inceptional i built a pc and bought a oculus solely to play this game after playing it at an arcade. Been messing around with the rift and it really does have a lot more to offer then what i took it for before

VR has been a hit for a while. Games are clamouring to get their stuff remade or made for VR. But like every fad, it's has ups and downs due to game development and how well classic games (such as this and few others) can keep people coming back to it.
Big companies are already making their games for VR so it's been mainstream for a while. This isn't some underground thing lol
VR is mainstream, just like 4K is mainstream. But the reason why hardly anyone has it because it's expensive and not everyone can afford a 1000+ VR rig just to play a few VR games. Very big investment for small gain. Price is the only thing holding me back from getting VR.

It's been a hit with people like you and me--well me certainly--but it needs to be a much bigger hit to make it truly worthwhile for all the biggest developers to fully get on board and for it to secure its long terms success (at least without it dying out again for a while like it did before). It's nowhere even close to mainstream yet, although it will get there in the end, I have no doubt--and it's going to a major paradigm shifts when it finally does hit true mainstream. And it's far, far more than a "fad"--that's not even debatable.

Even the character bios are modeled after the Korean style since heights are given in centimeters and each member is given a different title such as lead dancer, lead vocalist, and lead rapper. Everything about is is modeled after Kpop culture, even if most of the song is in English, and it is marketed as such.

Do you know how this works? This is a collaboration between Beat Games and riotgames to get their song into the game. Madison Beer was a guest musician in that song and looks good, so they take her to make this video. Of course she doesn't know the game well so anything harder would be useless. This is not about impressive gameplay.

The only problem I have with this video is the not so well though trough production quality.
A Pop singer is most likely not going to be very familiar or skilled with beatsaber, so the low song difficulty makes sense.
But why they didn't bother with at least a tiny bit of camera smoothing in the first person shots really boggles my mind.
The human head, especially during physical activity, is a jittery mess. If you track it absolutely perfectly 1:1 you're gonna get footage that looks like a guy with parkinsons held a camera in his hand.
There's a super simple mod called CameraPlus for BeatSaber. It allows you to add however much smoothing you want to the in-game camera that moves with the tracking of the headset to output the "player perspective" onto the display mirror.
Should have used that.
And this ladies and gentlemen, is a gamer in their natural habitat
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Also while the panning camera looks cool the spinning camera doesn't really do much for the gameplay. I'm guessing it because of the slower gameplay due to the difficulty level choice, but they really don't focus on her playing much in 3rd person which is a shame as its honestly much more interesting to watch even if they added motion smoothing to the first person perspective. There also appears to be some artifacting due to compression from the image being so dark. This is a youtube issue but the video production should have known this and there are some things you can do to compensate.
Still, it seems like a genuine playthrough by here which is neat, though seeing it on expert plus in the same context would be far more amazing.
It's just a choreography, the difficulty is nothing for a professional dancer.
Also, video is very sickening considering it’s 30 or 24 fps
I prefer this that the custom song one. It actually makes you feel like you're doing part of the dance.

And then brag about being able to play expert and talk down on videos like these when they arent on the same difficulty when it was mainly to showcase the song and how you can vibe and dance with it.
