I love how it shows every state of being a Marine. They focus so much on earning the title but never show what happens after, being a Marine Veteran is so rewarding. I love this ad, probably my favorite.
I went to Afghanistan but ever since I got back I can hear shooting when I try to fall sleep or I get nightmares and wake up sweating and my wife helps me. But these dreams aren't like anything I've ever had and I'm starting to think something is really wrong with me cause I can't make it stop and I can't tell anyone except my wife that I'm not enjoying life anymore with these problems. Does anyone else here have this? Sometimes I just wish I died in Afghanistan but I don't tell her that. I sneak a bit of vodka during the day and it helps. Not only that but I can't calm my body down unless I'm drinking, and quick noises make me freak out like my younger brother jump scared me when I walked out of the bathroom and I yelled at him and threatened to punch him but later on realized I really overreacted. It is built upon the effort of countless individuals sharing the same wish to honor and support our community.
As a Retired Combat Army Airborne Veteran, I must acknowledge the great work and message put into this USMC commercial. Happy Veterans Day and Happy Birthday USMC.
@johan 11 some of the best and hardest working marines I know are females, and they work harder then their male counterparts to try and outperform them. Meanwhile, the next Army commercial will be: "This is Blaine. He has not one, but two dads (one of caucasian and one of the afro-American races naturally). His adopted Asian sister, Joan, is "married" to her Hispanic wife, Mary. Together they have given Blaine the courage to sacrifice this dislike for the color green and overcome it to join the Army."
They left out endless hours cleaning weapons that weren’t fired, standing one a parade deck at 4:00 am because the Col. wanted a 7:00 am formation, for a 8:00 am inspection. Actually, after seeing the female at 0:11 in the commercial, I immediately started wondering how far she would last with a pack the size of that one on her back since it looks like it weighs 1/3 of her body weight. Seems like a quick way to get a lifetime of knee and back problems.
The military has never made "better citizens". The most infamous criminal organizations in American history were all founded by veterans. The Mafia? World War 1 & 2 vets. The Hell's Angels? I went to Afghanistan but ever since I got back I can hear shooting when I try to fall sleep or I get nightmares and wake up sweating and my wife helps me. But these dreams aren't like anything I've ever had and I'm starting to think something is really wrong with me cause I can't make it stop and I can't tell anyone except my wife that I'm not enjoying life anymore with these problems. Does anyone else here have this? Sometimes I just wish I died in Afghanistan but I don't tell her that. I sneak a bit of vodka during the day and it helps. I'm in my 20's and idk what to do or what's wrong with me it is so embarrassing cause I feel like a useless idiot but it's really hard to function. Can someone help me what if I'm getting schizophrenia? Does schizophrenia make u hear those bullet sounds? I got fired at work because I cant sleep at night and when I tried to go to work all I could think of was how I was going to have those bad dreams again and hear that bullet noise when I close my eyes again it's like a vicious circle. Not only that but I can't calm my body down unless I'm drinking, and quick noises make me freak out like my younger brother jump scared me when I walked out of the bathroom and I yelled at him and threatened to punch him but later on realized I really overreacted. I feel like the only way out of this is to just shoot myself in the head cause I think it's getting worse. There must be a way I can work myself out of this and calm my body down then maybe everything else will stop too

Actually a badass commercial, I’ve never seen the concept of “ making better citizens” which the military is also supposed to do, be featured in a recruiting video. They even included females in a not stupid way.
Korea and Vietnam vets, mostly Marines with CIA ties.
Bloods & Crips? Vietnam vets.
Surenos? Green Card warriors, guys who served in exchange for citizenship, same for MS13.
Black Gangster Disciple Nation? Vietnam vets.
