    For me, if a client has straight hair then I will set the guideline with the trimmer. Then I’ll go in the the blade fully open, no guard, up against the shape of the head. I only use the 1-1/2 to half for detailing at the end if I need it. Then I blend out by closing the blade at the bottom. Hot later and razor the bald line, then fade in the trimmer line with a shaver. Fastest fade I ever did was 3 minutes from a 3 on the corners down to a half by freehanding with the shape of the head. I was even shocked it was so fast

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather
      @Christopher_Minnieweather  2 года назад

      That sounds like a fire system to try out. Why do you use the razor with lather as well as the electric shaver? I never baked out with the razor because it’s not as close since most people only cut with the grain when balding out versus using th electric shaver and cutting against to get it closer. Just always seemed like a waste of time and product doing it that way? Thoughts?

    • @AlexeiMikhailBoleslav
      @AlexeiMikhailBoleslav 2 года назад +1

      @@Christopher_Minnieweather Thanks Chris, and thanks for the reply! I ask the client if they want a razor line or a trimmer line, or the shaver. Without a doubt they all ask for the hot lather razor finish. Some clients come in just for that because it’s so satisfying and pleasant. Imo that experience is worth any imperfections from the razor if they can’t be fixed with the shaver

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather
      @Christopher_Minnieweather  2 года назад

      @@AlexeiMikhailBoleslav no problem fam. I think it’s to many options😂 the client chose from the options you gave. If they asked for a skin fade then use the shaver they’ll appreciate how much longer it last especially if they are used to only getting the razor on the sides. But it’s all personal preference on how you want to run your business. I just try to eliminate wasted steps. But the razor is nostalgic so I understand why they say they want it. Not in my chair tho 😂

    I dont get how you were able to skip the half guard. It looked like you were laying the clipper pretty much flat on the head and it was blending into the 1 closed

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather
      @Christopher_Minnieweather  2 года назад +3

      You can do it using corners and flicking out. The 1919 clippers I was using has a slightly longer reach because I have the wahl legends bracket on it. Hope that helps Mike thanks for watching brother

    What’s the purpose of switching between the seniors and the 1919. Are the blades different? Are you detailing with a fade blade or taper blade?

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather

      @Christopher_Minnieweather  2 года назад

      What up Joshua thanks for watching. One of the first shops I was at we charged 13 for a cut and 10 on Tuesday’s. I stayed at that shop for 6 years and went up in price as the shop went up until maybe about year 4 I went up by myself with the permission of the shop owner to 25 and 30 with beard. The next couple years I went up $5 a year then I made the jump last year to 60 a cut 70 with beard. That was a $20 increase at one time. I was nervous but I felt like I was worth it. God has been good because with a that increase I’m still full every week.

    I haven’t used Wahl since 2012! Once you start using stylecraft, Andis I’m fabulous there’s no need to ever use Wahl trimmers or clippers ever again. Unless they put out more innovative products. But the product semi changed since the 80s. The most you get out of any of their clippers is two hours run time. That was OK in 2015. And the clippers are heavy. The magic clippers light. As far as that goes are used to JRL or the new Fast Feeds

    I started out using walls but stopped using them around 2012. I’ll never pick up any wall clipper or trimmer for that matter again. This is no reason to. They’re heavy I’ve been the same since the 80s. I haven’t changed at all. The only wall product that I use as I take the wall five star detailer trimmer blade and I put it on the 3-D trimmer. It’s like a $23 trimmer if you can get on Amazon. But I never use it.
