Meanwhile if you buy a land cruiser. It has no cup holders. No arm rests. 2 x 4” speaker sound system. No lumbar support, no electronic seats, bare minimum safety systems. People are cutting the chassis in half and extending it to make it tow properly. Then you have to install bull bars, driving lights, winch and then, side steps and modify the rear differential so that the front and rear tyres are the same track width. A digital rear view mirror isn’t a hard mod if you want it by comparison 😂
NO - They do NOT need to make a wireless version as the quality of the image feed will suck 👺 and vary... That image quality is superb... Having had wireless it is a rip-off IMO.... Can't wait to get one of these on my Model X....
I guess in a few months a smarter product will appear, just taking the video stream from the existing rear camera. It is sad that Tesla does not offer that as an option. For example Renault has a very good implementation of that : ruclips.net/video/HOnOByXjm4M/видео.html
So the ones that I've used with other cars just strap on to your existing mirror. Main benefit I see of this one is cable management, though highly doubt that's worth $400 compared to the WOLFBOX 4K I have for $100. But with that said, I did pay $100k for this damn truck, so maybe a cleaner option is better than cheaper.
Thanks for the video, LCD rear view mirror has been around for years. I don't know why Tesla didn't make it as option. Cost? customers will pay for it and this is a high demand feature if they worry about not selling enough.
This Camera is way overpriced.. I did one with 4k screen and 2.5k rear camera for Under $150 and works perfect i al so mounted my camera higher and i get a complete view and dont have to worry about the camera getting snapped off with something in the road or going off roading
they need to make a wireless version
There might be some latency with that

The problem is you skipped the part where you get the wire outside of the car.
Chevy roof mounted cam is the GOAT and no blind spots
My chevy bolt had this 6 years ago
To avoid the glare and double mirror effect tilt up
Good to see this. I highly recommend these things. They make a world of difference on most vehicles.

What U connector is this? I would like to use it for something else.
I thought it would be installed after installing the passthrough. When it kept going and prying more stuff...I was like naw.

Great job! Do the visors move freely around the mirror? Thanks.

A must upgrade! Will this void any Tesla warranties. 6:34 not planning to use that tow mount 😂
A larger lcd would be better
