First concert I ever saw was in 1972 at the Greens Playhouse - Glasgow . Lindisfarne were the headline act supported by Genesis and Rab Noakes . 40 years passed in a flash . Great memories and happy days . £1.00 for the ticket .
When me and my pal John McCaffrey started messing with guitars as 14 year olds we learned this and loved singing it. happy days. RIP Alan Hull and John
Ilove this song i used to sing it in pubs round about perth in the 70s, i see they left the last verse out do you remember the last verse, i have a vid of me singing it one night during a power cut,

What memories this brings back! I went to a Lindisfarne Christmas concert at City Hall every year they put them on-from the late seventies until Alan Hull died. I saw the band once since, but that was the end of an era. Good times. Rab Noakes was a special bloke with a huge talent. Who doesn’t love “Turn a Deaf Lug”?
Rab Noakes died today. Safe journey sir.
Gutted at the death of Rab Noakes . Together forever and turn a deaf ear classics

So glad you had that. As a Glasgow man I would only be ten at that time. Still love it.
