    I currently roll with a LG 40WP95C-W as my main with a ppi of 140-it is awesome for productivity as a engineer. I’m currently testing LG’s 45GR95QE-B OLED as a second monitor with a ppi of 80. It is an awesome gaming monitor but not suitable for coding, reverse engineering, running Windows [CMD] or Linux commands on the fly. I have both the Dell Alienware OLED and Corsair Flex and while the Corsair is good for gaming, my chief two complaints are no G-Sync Ultimate, no DisplayPort 2.x and yeah the PPI is absolutely noticeably low. I also have the predecessor the original 34-in175Hz Alienware OLED which has a much crisper screen.
    In a nutshell, both the LG and Corsair 45-in are the equivalent of a 32-in 16x9 whereas the Alienware 34-in is equivalent to a 27-in 16x9. Personally, I prefer the larger "32-in" screen.
    My hope is that there will be a higher density PPI (21:9 ~4K) but similar 45-in size OLED at perhaps 500Hz in the next couple years along with DisplayPort 2.x, a Nvidia Ultimate G-Sync module and "RTX 5000" series GPU.
    As a footnote I have an RTX 3090 on my older 175 Hz alienware which is adequate but to get 240Hz or 240 plus FPS you definitely need an RTX 4090 or forget it.

Want to connect my M1 Pro MacBook Pro to it (via HDMI) and my gaming rig (via Displayport).Only downside to this monitor I feel is the lack of USB-C/Thunderbolt-ports... otherwise, I don't care about a low ppi. I am thinking of picking this monitor up... I tried out the G8 monitor and compared it side by side with the AW3423DWF and I felt that the Samsung got blown out the water. The color saturation was extremely distracting sometimes when doing normative task like browsing and watching certain content. I also felt like the HDR experience on the G8 was pretty mediocre as well. Not to mention the silly micro hdmi and mini display port nonsense. No Data upstream on the monitor either.... I'm probably gonna pick this monitor up tomorrow. Great vid buddy

    • @FIREWOLFTECH
      @FIREWOLFTECH  Год назад

      I agree that the micro and mini ports are silly, but I do appreciate that they’re HDMI 2.1 plus the G8 Oled has TYPE C with charging which is perfect for MAC. I wish this 45 UltraGear had thunderbolt, but then again it’s not geared towards office users. I never use HDR lol

      @@FIREWOLFTECH Yeah that USB Type C is a nice addition, but I think the monitor is overpriced when you have the DWF and DW on the market. My other question for you.. Have you tried to overclock the resolution to 3840x1600 on your pc with LG 45 240hz... I was wondering would this alleviate some PPI problems especially since the size of the monitor is so large. Thanks for the response

    • @FIREWOLFTECH
      @FIREWOLFTECH  Год назад

      I didn’t even know you could overclock resolution. I only use my gaming PC for playing games, the majority of my creative productivity is on my Mac Studio, so the PPI is the only thing that is holding me back 🥺 I’m enjoying making videos on monitors, so I might just end up trying them all 😅
      As for the price of the G8 OLED, I think it’s justifiable because of the fact that it has HDMI 2.1 & 2 Type C ports, it’s just more future proof than the Alienware versions. If you’re only using PC, and only need DisplayPort, than I agree the Alienware is just a better value, but the versatility of the inputs is what makes the G8 oled better

      In terms of viewing and gaming experience, the LG 45 OLED has been a better experience for me, but that’s also because my desk is very large and deep, which makes a 45 a better option. So for gaming it’s beautiful, but the low PPI might make doing certain things that involve small text a little annoying if you want a higher pixel density, that’s where the G8 OLED has it beat

Does it hold it well and offer good mobility with minimal wobble? I've read that's one of the top 5 stands out there for this monitor. I got one for $1,000… I am currently loving it but when I see the Windows wallpapers at times it makes me wanna return it since it looks so low res. Any other time the picture looks spot on. I am going to see if it grows on me. The fact that it is not 4k was at the front of my mind and over time I don’t think about as much. This is definitely the monitor you want to love but simply can’t because it does not check that 4k box. Overall I still absolutely love using the monitor for gaming and day to day task.

      @@KoolHandLuke589 Thats a great price ! It helps when you stop thinking about it lol I would stick to very dark wallpapers with lots of black in it. That would make you not want to return it 😅😅

      Only when you focus on the pixels you might notice it. I personally don’t notice it too much, since I’m more focused on how nice the OLED display is 🔥

      My eyes suck but I do notice the lower PPI, not nearly as crisp as my 38 inch Alienware monitor i have. That being said its not a huge deal for me i dont look at text/spread sheets all day on this one it mainly for gaming. If you are getting this to do work like that it might not be a good choice. I decided to keep my old monitor for mt WFH Pc and have it hooked up so if i need to do a lot of text consumption i can always move it to the other monitor if im having issues .

    I tried a 38" 16:9 1440P and I sent it back, 1440p on a screen that size was awful, pixels were large and easy to pick out on everything, as a desk monitor it was trash. Can a 45" ultra wide at 1440p really be any good when it comes to image quality and pixel density? I sit 18-20 inches back from the screen on my desk, could make that probably 24" if mount to a wall, but wouldnt want to spend this much on a monitor with pixels that I can easily pick out. 1600p and higher pixel density would surely have been a better shout at this size? It's also very expensive.
    Is that ghosting on the building objects in the FPS or is it just the YT video showing something thats not there?

    • @FIREWOLFTECH
      @FIREWOLFTECH  Год назад +1

      If you can notice pixel density enough where it bothers you, then yes as a desk monitor it’s not that great. My desk is deeper, about 32”, so the image quality isn’t that bad. You also have to consider that the monitor is OLED, and in my opinion looks amazing compared to other display types. I also agree that this should’ve been higher pixel density given the size and cost of this monitor, I’m hoping one releases soon.
      And as for ghosting, it’s def the RUclips video, I don’t notice ghosting when gaming

    This is a "tech" channel? Umm absolutely no SATA cable provided. That is a standard USB 3.0 cable, one end is A male, the other is B male
    There is absolutely no SATA interface on the monitor 😂
    That cable stated above plugs into the monitor and is nothing more than a USB hub jumping from the computer
