- Chanticleer performs "Wait" Fantasy.
An epic choral fantasy inspired by "Wait" from the French band M83, incorporating poetry by Emily Dickinson (I Sing to use the Waiting), and original material composed by Steve Hackman.
"When we got this piece from Steve, our hearts and imaginations were captured by its originality...The repetitions of "No time," impassioned and ethereal, stirred our emotions in rehearsal and touched on formative experiences we all share--urgency, surrender, catharsis, and questions of death, time, and eternity. If time is an illusion (an idea never too far from Dickinson), there is no more that must be done; "no end... no goodbye." -Jace Wittig
Recorded January 30, 2014 at The Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg, Russia

Thanks George Collier for showing us heaven
I keep coming back to this video as it is astonishing, thrilling, and indeed 'epic' as a piece and performance. Thank you Chanticleer and Steve Hackman.
メンバーの声域の広さに驚かされます。
画面外にあと10人くらいいてコーラスしてるように聞こえる。
とても素晴らしい!!
The build up from 5:50 up until 6:10 is just insane.... so beautiful
When I die I want to be reincarnated as Cortez Mitchell's voice.
Now I know how angels in heaven sound like
Literally cannot stop listening to this. What resonating beauty.
FINALLY, I’ve been waiting for a video of this piece for years hahaha
Coming back to this video for the 3rd time this week
Wow. Wow! WOW! So glad you released this. I have been a Chanticleer fan for quite a few years, and I thought I'd heard it all. When I heard this, it touched my soul. Spectacular. So good too to see some familiar faces of days past.
WOW! My jaw droppped. Beautiful!!!
Fabulous! I can't wait to see you again when you are able to come back to Colorado.
finally some new videos !! I had already seen them all ten times, I needed more !! Congratulations from Brazil, for the excellent work
Still listening to this years later ❤️
Absolutely chilling. What a great performance.
It's interesting to thing about how right now, during the coronavirus outbreak, we're thinking about 1. life and death and how little time we really have, and 2. most people are staying at home and have nothing BUT time. Both at once, how strange! This piece is beautiful, well done. And you got me to think, congratulations!
Gorgeous!
Perfect!
Gorgeous!!!💗
Gent's....I'm convinced you're simply not of this earth.... Absolutely fantastic and a joy for the soul.

This is CAPTIVATING
What an amazing song and a powerful performance. There is a special place in hell reserved for the person who clapped at 6:15 🤣
hahahahahah omg I can't
it's such a slap in the face after that pure vocal perfection
It’s like totally being unable to read a room. You can hear it’s unresolved, and that the shape of the song will include falling action. I guess some people don’t have the context.
Oh no, someone utterly carried away accidentally clapped. Get over yourselves.

Well, somebody has certainly gotten carried away alright...
5:45
Ooh that chord at 5:58…
Love Emily Dickinson's inclusion
Honestly, phenominal.
Shame on the audience!
Didn't know Abraham Lincoln was a singer
