When I saw the notification of a new video the title was in Japanese but it had "Jacob Koller" and that's good enough reason to like this without listening first
I think it's better to focus on shorter attainable goals and have fun while doing it. If you're goal is to go from 0-100 in a short time you will probably get frustrated. It takes time to really improve.
I play the piano for 11 years (music school) but they teach only classic chords. Jazz sounds so complicated and that's why I love it but I have in my mind only classic pieces...
I think the book called "The Real Easy Book" is a good fun way to get started with jazz. Also I real pro app for iPhone and iPad is a good way to practice.
The Mad Arranger / Jacob Koller sounds good, maybe I'll analyze out all your arrangements and find a trend- regardless your playing is something to aspire to and extremely motivating.
Incredible stuff. I feel like I missed out, never really learning how to improvise. Trying to work on it now. Any tips for a classically trained pianist trying to up their improv. level?
Amazing. Tried to look up the original but I don't think I got it right. The one I found was an Okinawan folk song by Rimi Natsukawa. Or is it the one by Masaaki Kishibe? Who's the composer for this one?? Link to the original?

Jacob Koller / The Mad Arranger
One of my favorite pianists in the world!

Was distracted the entire time on how amazing your posture was
It's very Keith Jarrett inspired, for sure.
Good, I like that!!
How do those of us who want to be able to play like that even get started?

The Mad Arranger / Jacob Koller makes sense, thank you. so if I start by looking into jazz chords and structure, where would you suggest I go?

you should do a cover of magic waltz from the the legend of 1900. it should be pretty interesting to see what you do with the song.
Reckless Strawberry how about Playing Love
