I just changed my hi beam bulbs as you video demonstrated. I have large hands and it was tight. The passenger's side, ,I had to use a bungee strap to hold the windshield washer spout aside. Your video was spot on perfect. Thank you!
Just wanted to thank you for your videos. You made it east for me to upgrade my wifes Passport a couple of years ago. Looks like your a musclecar guy as well. I like the camaros. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thanks for the tutorial. I followed it and it was as easy as you made it seem. The AutoOne 9005 bulbs that I got off Amazon would not go in fully but I managed to stuff them in and get half of a locking turn. They work just fine and are secure. Hopefully they don’t rattle out or start fogging up. If that happens I’ll trim up the plastic on them to fit better.
3 Questions please: 1. What about the severe heat from these replacement LED bulbs? If they don't have a fan will this get too hot in there and start melting some things??? 2. How do you adjust the low beams?? I'm getting some people flashing me while on low as if they are getting blinded but they are the original factory and I haven't adjusted them?? 3. Are these factory low beams HID projector with a high "k" to make them daylight like an LED ??? What's the difference between HID projector and LEDs??
1 led bulbs use way less energy than halogen therefore creating less heat. Newer technology led are moving away from fans I don’t believe any automotive manufacturer uses a fan cooled led. 2 there are adjustments for the lowbeam a quick google search will provide you with the procedure. But before you start messing with has already been done by Honda consider a few things. Geographical location. Are you getting flashed where the road is at any kind of a grade? If you are higher than the person coming towards you then it will seem bright to the oncoming traffic. Also do you vary a trunk full of stuff? This too will affect how you lights project. Lastly people are very sensitive and it might not be you. 3 this is a technical question an led is a light emitting diode and an hid is high intensity discharge bulb. LED works better in a reflective housing and hid in a projector housing and also uses a xenon gas where the led is gas less. Hope this helps
The H11 is a single low beam light, whereas the 9005 is high beam light with a high illumination capability. They also have varying degrees of energy consumption; the 9005 being on the higher side with 65W, and the H11 has a 55W rating
I have a question. The high beam is also used as daytime driving lights. Does the 9005 led bulb come on for daytime driving lights or does it stay out?
Depends on the model. On the sport trim its is the daytime running light but others have the led in the headlight that acts as the daytime running light. If you put led lights I for your high beam I believe they will run full power
@@eddiesspeedgarage Ok, your truck is the premium package with led strip around the headlight housing. I'll go and check other RUclips videos Mine is 2023 RTL HPD
The daytime running light in my vehicle is the led brow. I do believe just an led replacement would not function properly where it was set up for halogen due to the lower power requirements of the led. I believe they would be full brightness
Any thoughts on the discourtesy to other drivers encountered? I changed the headlight on one side today, and opted out upgrading to LED because I hate dealing with LED of oncoming traffic Also, the need to remove the panel to change a bulb convinced me to stay with Gen 1 Ridgeline. That’s crazy
Projector style low beams work just the same with LEDs as they do with halogen bulbs, so converting low beams don't blind oncoming drivers. High beams always blind oncoming drivers, so it doesn't matter what bulb they use because you shouldn't turn them on when other drivers are near.
I put HID bulbs in my 06 RL and they are great. The low beams are so bright and clear that I rarely use the hi beams. No flashing lights from other drivers either.
@@robludwig9338 Yeah man I feel you. I have a 17 RTL and I ended up ordering some led high and low beams for mine and I could not be happier. Will install led fogs later on.

Why would Honda have normal yellow high beams? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Are those Headlight bulbs , # T15, haveing trouble finding them ??
Thanks for the super easy and informative video. After seeing this I’m going to give it a try on my ‘18 Sport.
That’s is exactly my purpose! Best wishes
@cajazzbeartv Did you do the replacement? How did it go? I own a 2018 Sport also.

Eddie, have you installed a VCM muzzle in any of your vehicles? Love the videos.
Not yet
HUGE difference!
Just bought a 2020 ridgeline, I want to switch to all led's.
Will you be doing other videos including daytime running lights , turn signals, etc.
Great videos Eddie!

With the led bulb change are you able to still use your daytime running lights

My vehicle has the led brow so I does not have the daylights
Great video. One year down the road, are the LED light still as bright as they were?
Yeah no problems. They aren’t used much but when someone doesn’t dim they regret it! Lol
@@eddiesspeedgarage yes, that is what I'm looking for 😁, thanks
Excellent video
Quick Question: Can I use this highbeam lights for my 2021 Black Edition?
I’m not sure if Honda changed the bulb. I would assume not because that’s how they roll!

Do you think they are better?
Yea so much better
I’m having a difficult time taking out low beams. Did you have to push then turn counterclockwise?
Yes I believe that’s the process. Which model do you have?
I have a 2020 Ridgeline RTL, downsized from a 2016 F150 Lariat 4x4 SuperCrew Cab 😳
@@nmsaints87124 does the rtl not have led headlights already? I thought it was just the sport
Does the Passport use the same bulbs and is it the same procedure ? thanks
Yes and yes
What’s the link for these bulbs?
Mr Eddie, what brand did you bought for your LED bulbs ?

I installed these same bulbs in my highs, so you have play in the bulb to housing? I can move the led bulb quiet a bit in my housing.
How do you turn on your light string on the head light, my 2021 ridgeline doesn't turn on at all.
If you have a sport model I don’t think it’s equipped with it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t put it in yourself!
Some models didn’t have them
They are now $34.63 applying the discount coupon on amazon.
Inflation is real smh!
what about the low beams. the high beams are not the probem.
It’s a black edition the low beams are pretty bright.
My Low beams are led they are perfect
@@eddiesspeedgarage 2020's might be brighter than 17's

Understood that they operate as high beam effectively but do they operate as DRL?
I’m gonna say no and assume your vehicle is a sport.
