Beautiful work! I held my breath when you got those loose shirt sleeve cuffs so close to the table saw. That creates a high risk of the fabric being caught in the blade and pulling your arm into the saw. Push sticks and push blocks!
Beautiful piece, excellent workmanship ... my only question was with some of the music, didn't know whether to whistle along half the time or stuff some plane shavings in my ears - ha ha ha!! Thanks for posting this video!
Beautiful job. I love how portable this table will be. But, I’m worried about your fingers and sleeves when using the table saw. Great project. It’s now on my list of projects for the winter.
Thank you Bro! Search with this word "角利 龍蔵 ブロンズ八角玄能 300g" If you absolutely want it, If there is no overseas shipment I will send you a substitute purchase : )
Nice. How wide is the Doug Fir top? Ive got some nice v tight grain White Oak id like to use...mainly because its available and in approx size of 11" wide, 6/4.
Cool video. The Japanese hand planes work on the pull stroke unlike the western planes which plane on the push. IDE like to get a Japanese hand plane but have no clue what to look for. What brand do you use and can I get them shipped to the states?
Thank you bro! I have favorite tools here. → www2.odn.ne.jp/mandaraya/index.html If you mail ordered in simple English you can also purchase. I think I would like to use Western plan someday :)
Lots of places in the USA you can buy a decent Japanese plane. Not top of the line but good enough to get started. The secret is really all in the setup. Look up Samurai Carpenter and lemongrasspicker here on youtube. You can even get a decent Japanese plane off Amazon.

Nicely done! Fine tools finely tuned in the hands of a craftsman who knows how to use them. Impressive!
Beautiful. Love your shop and the view out window. It would be hard for me to leave it.
1:52 - Looked like your sleeves got dangerously close to that saw, however, great process video.
And his fingers.

Those cabinets in the background are amazing.
This channel is a gem.
Nice. I am figuring that having quarter sawn lumber is critical for keeping a some what flat surface when figuring for seasonal movement.
Excellent video and process. Beautiful workmanship. A work of art. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent work and craftsmanship, beautiful peice, and wonderful music selection. Top notch video!
I don't see how you can plane on a rickety bench like that. It would drive me nuts. A great deal of your planing power goes into moving the bench.
oh my... beautiful work, but stopping the table saw with fingers is outside my comfort zone :)
BEAUTIFUL.......RELAXING AND ENJOYABLE TO WATCH............GREAT SKILL
lovely! i find the blemish in the wood near the right hand edge very satisfying.
I love the whole concept. Nice work.

Thanks comment ;)
Wonderful! Thanks, I was looking for how to make a Japanese workbench.
Well done! I love it
very nice! I really want to make one of these for myself soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you bro!
This is both beautiful and useful. Thanks so much for sharing!
I love the simplicity of not needing a fancy bench. What would be used when dimensioning longer boards >1m traditionally in japan?
The video was truly inspirational and the craftsmanship superb, the music ? not so much
Very nice work, enjoyed the video. Great craftsmanship.
Thank you :-)
Just a beautiful result
When they say bad music can destroy a decent RUclips video. Well, the music to this video is a classic example
Great work! Thank you for this video 🙂👍
Beautiful piece, excellent workmanship ... my only question was with some of the music, didn't know whether to whistle along half the time or stuff some plane shavings in my ears - ha ha ha!! Thanks for posting this video!
The music got me dangerously close to seppuku
the way you work with your table saw with your shirt's sleeves hanging so close to the blade scares me to death bro
Beautiful work!

Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing it.
Beautiful job. I love how portable this table will be. But, I’m worried about your fingers and sleeves when using the table saw. Great project. It’s now on my list of projects for the winter.
Beautiful planing board! I really want to get a copper hammer like you have.
Thank you Bro!

bayashi23 amazing video. Well done. Also love this hammer.
Well done. The only thing that I might do differently, is to fit the legs with a tapered dovetail dados.
Very nice wood
Great skill you show!!
Gorgeous work
Great HANDWORK... nice Video.
Very good musik ... 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍
You are a true artist carpenter. Hello Vito
A thing of beauty. Brilliant video. Thank you.
Nice tutorial!
Whow such skill and respect. Much love from the Netherlands.
I love your videos and I'm very curious how your home is.
Thank you for your comment and I’ll post new videos about after few month. Enjoy it :)
Great video and great plane table .. maybe dumb question but what does one do if stoppers are getting loose after some time?
Very nice!
Good video, you are a true craftsman. You have very poor safety standards sadly, and why the completely inappropriate music?
Excellent work! Congratulations. What kind of wood do you use for the main table?
Gran bel lavoro. Splendida musica.
Version without music? Only with woodworking sounds, please?
Awesome video though
All you need now is a work bench that doesn't wobble as you take shavings, very nice table though :)
AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Amazing how do you still have fingers...
Is that you Bayashi saan? Nice to see your project !!👌👌
Klasse 👍
Awesome. Thanks for the post.
If that blade catches that long sleeve of yours.... you will get a million views
can you tell the background music.. the violin.. its really nice
How did you get the dogs to stay in place and so tightly fitted
?
I hope he buys a SawStop. He's likely to need it.
Is the planing board Douglas fir or only the feet? Thank you. Beautiful!!!
Wish I could say awesome and beautiful in Japanese! Very inspiring.
Nice. How wide is the Doug Fir top? Ive got some nice v tight grain White Oak id like to use...mainly because its available and in approx size of 11" wide, 6/4.
I liked the whistle music
7:08 - I don't think I've ever seen someone put their fingers that close to a table saw blade before. Made me jump.
you are a sawstop customer!
+danceanddreams1
Do not be silly. Cutting that close to any moving blade has its risks and at some point a person will make a mistake.
Also the long sleeves on the shirt came close to the blade.
If that finger gets any closer than at 1:45, he might as well touch the blade!
Oh, he did :-o
Great material thank you! As asked below, what kind of wood are you using for the table top? Also the legs? Thanks again!
TheJameron
The wood is something soft and strait grained. If the wood is difficult, Japanese planes fail. The modern metal plane is far superior.
Wonderful!
Thank you :-)
GOOD JOB. FROM BRAZIL
Magnífico trabajo. Felicidades
Gracias!
