What I love about Nightwish... If you close your eyes, it can take you away to incredible new worlds, like reading a really good story. Sometimes the stories are terrifying, like this song. Sometimes they are beautiful, but they're always fascinating.
Let's stop throwing shit and enjoy this band is superb each of these vocalists are good if not Tuomas nor had chosen ... everyone has their thing and you and everyone is faithful to what you think and more like
I love Annettes voice and am glad to see she is releasing her own singles now. I never tire of hearing her voice. Tarja's voice was great but would tire the ear after a while.
It was pretty good live too. Especially on the small indoor venue so you could really feel the drums and the riffs. I really don't get why people rip on the lead singer so much. Nightwish hasn't had a bad singer yet.

I've always loved Marco's voice. I don't hear that kind of dark beautie in a man's voice these days because today's singers don't sing this kind of amazing music. Some of today's popular music is okay, but I have to be in just the right mood to listen to it. I love Nightwish!!!
In my opinion, the best song this album has to offer. Marco's voice adds another element to the already ¨ghostly atmosphere¨, which really just enhances the value of the song. They really nailed it with Ghost River as far as I`m concerned.
I don't understand the need to compare the different singers of Nightwish. They have their own style, it would seem people are stuck in believing that because Floor or Tarja sang it one way and with a certain style that now Anette must sing it that way or vice versa. You really can't compare the three, the only similarities there are they sing for Nightwish.

He joined in 2002. From1998 to2001 they had Sami Vänskä. Sami was there for the first three albums,Angels Fall Frist, Oceanborn, and Wishmaster. Marco joined in 2002 with Century Child.
I think Nightwish is awesome like this. All 3 singers have a different style, I can choose if I wanna hear Tarja's amazing voice, listen to Anette's kinda pop-like voice (that's perfect tho) or check out the lives where Floor totally rules everything (although her songs are awesome too). I think everyone can find a song for their taste, doesn't mater if it's Tarja, Anette or Floor. All three make awesome music.
I also wouldn't say Tarja is nothing without Nightwish. She writes and sings her own songs, something most solo artists can't do, and has produced her own albums. She's impressive. Tuomas asked her to be his singer for a reason, she was great then, she's great now.
Usually I don't listen to metal music, but I really love Nightwish! This is one of my favourite songs of this incredible album (the others are Last Ride of The Day and Turn Loose the Mermaids). I like Anette, so I think I will miss her.
When I first heard this song, I was a little iffy about it but it started to grow on me. I loved that they played it at the show I went to last month. I'm glad I was able to see Anette before she left the band.
I didn't like this song until I heard the live version with Floor on Showtime, Storytime, and I know why now. I think Anette's voice, on the studio version at least, isn't as powerful as it should be. I still love her voice on the other songs, like Slow, love, slow or Scaretale that just fit her perfectly. I'm a bit sad she's gone, but life is life, and Floor is awesome!
Anette did this very well, I think; she has a voice that's very nice for a witchy element in the music. But Floor's is indeed more powerful. I can't wait for the music they will make around that voice!

her illness is not some minor stuff that she simply recovers and is fit to continue the tour and with NW. As far as I heard she had several problems causeb by stress, travelling and other issues of the sort. I don't know if this is the truth but if it is it would have been very difficult for her to continue her career with NW. Rest Calm Anette, you were AWESOME at NW.

got this cd a while back, absolutely love it....on that note i wanna point out that cd's faded for a lot of reasons but after having to open one after so long only to find the little tongs broke inside....nevermind.
As far as I heard after yesterdays gig from the band backstage, Anette left because she could actually go on tours for a long time because shes got kids and she needs to be there for them. I also heard that she was ill but that isn't a reason really. She isn't concerned about a solo career as such but more about her personal life and being there for her kids which is actually a really good thing. More than I can say for the chavs that are never there for their kids!
I think Annette is good for the quick songs, like Storytime and this one. That's why when I hear the Wacken songs with Floor I prefer the old songs sung by her rather than the Annette songs which seem quite "slowed down", cannot explain. Also there are songs I think are PERFECT for Annette like Slow Love Slow. That does not mean i don't like Floor, I love her, I have heard every album of both the bands she's been in and I think she is more versatile than both the previous singers. But that doesn't mean they were bad, or that the songs with them sucked. They were written for them and suited them well, because not being the BEST OH MY GOD doesn't mean they aren't extremely good and certainly better than a lot of crap out there..
I was at the Denver concert where Annette was rushed to the hospital. Her being sick was the main reason she left, temporarily at the time. She couldn't sing. Her illness made her feel like she wanted to spend more time with her family.
i really like this song and i think tarja's voice would have not fitted it... however im not saying either is more skilled, but annete has a slightly more operatic voice, whearas tarja's was sharper, and more clear... the reason i point this out is that i think that the last few songs that tuomas has released have shown of nightwishes more dynamic side, and slightly more symphonic side... however, although that is not a bad thing, i think tuomas should release a slightly more edgier, more metal

I was not speaking of the music, lyrics, content or the like...I was speaking of a voice, one voice. I still like, from that I've heard, Nightwish's music; however, it's the 'new' voice that which lacks, and does not flow, in my not so humble opinion, of course. I'm not comparing Nightwish to Mozart or Napoleon or Christopher Columbus, please take my comment objectively and related to what we're talking about, contemporary music and specifically rock. Nightwish invented a new rock sub-genre, that's why they are so important. And Anette or ANYONE being the vocalist of that band has accomplished something great and deserves recognition, because only 1 among100000 does what she did. Offending her the way the other guy did doesn't make sense.

You should go look up his old band, his previous band was called "Tarot" where he plays the role of bass, and lead vocals. It's actually really good, my two fav songs are "Pyre of gods" and "Ashes to the stars" if you're looking for a place to start.
frankly, i couldn't agree more, they utilized dark passion play with Tarjas voice in their mind, which is why it's often referred to as one of the worse albums. i still like that album though. frankly Imaginaerum have utilized Anettes voice to perfection! I'm actually scared about that they won't be capable of releasing a album that's as good as imaginaerum. Anettes voice is utilized perfectly, and Tuomas have composed these songs to perfection!
I wouldn't give full credit to Tuomas. He altered the original style of the band from acoustic symphony to and edgier metal style because it fit Tarja's voice extremely well. Even now, Nightwish keeps that same metal form. After Anette joined, they put in a stronger chorus because it blended so well with her. Not to mention all the other band members, like Marco, who personally played each piece with their own character.
