I made sure I told someone on the team my thoughts. A lot of it comes down to me not jiving with their immersive design. I don’t expect them to alter the game fundamentally for me. They did assure me that AI was very high on their list of things to iron out before launch. They also mentioned that the puzzles would get harder, as what we played was early in the game.
I love easy games, games like elden ring arent fun because of the constant grind of trying to defeat the same boss over and over again. nice to see more games like this
I’m very excited for this game as a huge Indy fan, but guns need to be a one shot takedown. It should be a last resort option that will get you out of a situation, but start a whole new one
One of my biggest concerns about this is the movement speed, on reveal I thought, man, the dude moves so unbelievably slow. Those wall climbing and shimmying segments look agonizing to me, it's like King Zora slowly moving out of the way except not as a joke and instead of one time it's constantly throughout the whole playthrough. Really concerned about that. Also, I'm not a fan of the Indiana Jones voice. But I'm curious to see how the reviews stack up for this. Maybe it's worth it.
everything you described reminds me of chronicles of riddick (stealth focus almost no shooting) which was a really good game and also made by machine games.
I really appreciate how in depth you went for an impressions video. I’m a huge fan of the Indy movies so I’ve going into this game with the same mindset I did for Hogwarts Legacy. I loved that game but not for the gameplay. The story, world, characters, immersion were all fantastic as a fan of the Harry Potter movies.
If Indiana Jones is a 1930s Rambo, then the game loses on all fronts. Lost identity with fans, copycatting is never good, and other games would do it much, much better. It is kind of impossible to objectively know what the game fails at if you aren't familiar with the character and his persona. While ignorance of that is good from a design standpoint, how the game delivers an experience true to the character must suffer.
Not just you, although playing a game is different than just seeing it. I saw gameplay for new Vegas a while back and thought it was boring but I ended up playing it and felt the immersion so I’m sure it’ll be the same for jones
To me it looks like Kingdom Come's unarmed combat, which is fine for that game since it's an ocassional event, but here it seems to be more of a focus and will probably feel tedious.
I don't know how I feel about this game. It's $70 which is very expensive but I don't know if the game will be good. I'm pondering if I should bite the bullet and pre-order it to get the pre-order bonus. Had it been $60 then I would feel more comfortable to pre-order it. I do hope it's good.
Doing an Uncharted or Tomb Raider clone would've been the easy and obvious approach. I appreciate this somewhat strange first person / third person hybrid. It's unique, a curveball and the devs are pushing the action adventure genre forward
A lot of this sounds great, but yeah, 2 shots to the head with any gun is silly, regardless of difficulty. Don't mind the accuracy part cause Indie famously has pulled out guns to one tap enemies in short range because he's not a great shot otherwise XD.
I hate that this game might just be average because it looks great and the developers seem to really have a passion for the property and have put their all into making it a fun and cinematice experience. I hope it comes out better than it looks. Maybe they or others will learn from it and take another crack at it down the road if this one doesn't work entirely.
great review. looks really cool although i dont like cinematic games personally. i like good story telling through environment, setting, characters, but not necessarily cinematic sequences and cut scenes. I dont really like to be taken out of the game except maybe at act bosses. i think probably this wont be for me, but i may wait a year or two until its on sale
I didn't know about this game and when I heard you say Bethesda studios I already suspected easy puzzles and ai and am a little disappointed that I was right. However I think it could be fun. Thank you very much!
I will be able to look past the issues that bother you for sure. By fandom of the character alone Basically about all I needed you to tell me was just that it doesn't suck
I heard that in most cases, it will be linear and a few open areas, which I am excited. I love linear games and am tired of the open world. It's what gaming industry is so poor in optimizing large games on a home console. Truly mad tell you.
It sucks because they went with the T rating instead of going all out like they did with the wolfenstein games, i get that this is indiana jones a family friendly icon... but some impactful violence could of helped keep the action more engaging.
I loved Wolfenstein TNO and TNC, like seriously two of my favorites ever, so I'm conflicted about this game. It looks great, but i resent that they haven't been taking this time to make Wolfenstein 3
To be fair they've made like... 6 Wolfenstein games counting spin-offs and that one VR title, I'd want a change of pace as well, I'm guessing the next Wolfenstein is already in pre-production and will go full steam ahead once this launches.
I seriously feel like every time developers brag about their puzzles in their game, they just end up being boring cookie cutter sequences of button pressing
I havent watched to movies I just played the game, same mentality as She-hulk creator, I just did what I wanted with absolutely no respect to the original content
IDK about the puzzles man it a fine line between hard and arbitrary and I don’t really trust the team. EZ is the right approach ( or hard and 100% optional )
Am I crazy? Am I the only one who isn't impressed by the visuals of this game? I mean it looks fine.. but it doesn't look "immaculate" like people are saying. It looks pretty standard good to me. Stalker 2 is even more graphically impressive and that game currently runs like balls.
The guns are ass cause your real gun is the whip
I feel like you can still encourage the whip without making guns feel bad though

Doing an Uncharted or Tomb Raider clone would've been the easy and obvious approach. I appreciate this somewhat strange first person / third person hybrid. It's unique, a curveball and the devs are pushing the action adventure genre forward
It's first person because this is MachineGames, the Wolfenstein developers
@@SkandiTV didn't realize that is who made it
that makes sense
A lot of this sounds great, but yeah, 2 shots to the head with any gun is silly, regardless of difficulty. Don't mind the accuracy part cause Indie famously has pulled out guns to one tap enemies in short range because he's not a great shot otherwise XD.
I hate that this game might just be average because it looks great and the developers seem to really have a passion for the property and have put their all into making it a fun and cinematice experience. I hope it comes out better than it looks. Maybe they or others will learn from it and take another crack at it down the road if this one doesn't work entirely.
Pc mod will be out day 1 with 3rd person
Please tell me you've watched the movies since.
Is it one of those Mary Jane stealth missions games?
great review. looks really cool although i dont like cinematic games personally. i like good story telling through environment, setting, characters, but not necessarily cinematic sequences and cut scenes.
Nice review!
I will be able to look past the issues that bother you for sure. By fandom of the character alone
Basically about all I needed you to tell me was just that it doesn't suck
Honestly looks pretty decent, though I don't know if my PC will be good enough for this, and I hate playing first person games with a controller
Should’ve given this game to naughty dog studios.
As fan of the movies, this game looks fun if bought on sale at discount and bugs worked out.
I heard that in most cases, it will be linear and a few open areas, which I am excited. I love linear games and am tired of the open world. It's what gaming industry is so poor in optimizing large games on a home console. Truly mad tell you.
It sucks because they went with the T rating instead of going all out like they did with the wolfenstein games, i get that this is indiana jones a family friendly icon... but some impactful violence could of helped keep the action more engaging.
thats game i love bro , very many quest in this game , thank you bro for your video upload u hav
vince russo ?
I loved Wolfenstein TNO and TNC, like seriously two of my favorites ever, so I'm conflicted about this game. It looks great, but i resent that they haven't been taking this time to make Wolfenstein 3
To be fair they've made like... 6 Wolfenstein games counting spin-offs and that one VR title, I'd want a change of pace as well, I'm guessing the next Wolfenstein is already in pre-production and will go full steam ahead once this launches.
I seriously feel like every time developers brag about their puzzles in their game, they just end up being boring cookie cutter sequences of button pressing
sounds like a good wait for a sale type of game, really excited for it other wise but not 70 bucks excited
My biggest fear was the combat would suck…and it doesn’t look great lol.
It usually does, cyberpunk looks silly on video but is more fun to play
I will be buying the game although I am a novice, because I love all of the movies except for the last one.
I love immersive sim more than action games
The link for the other essay isn`t working.
That’s cool and all but i need Wolfenstein 3 ASAP.
Indiana Jones has disappointed me one too many times, and I’ll still play this
Still waiting for that shadow of the tomb raider video Aqua.
I think this will be at least worth checking out on game pass. Otherwise, I would just pass on it.
If gun play is bad shouldn’t there be a gun skill set making you better with them
Did the interactions and the physic is good ??
Yea I thought they were good
@ThatBoyAqua thank youu
Am I crazy? Am I the only one who isn't impressed by the visuals of this game? I mean it looks fine.. but it doesn't look "immaculate" like people are saying. It looks pretty standard good to me. Stalker 2 is even more graphically impressive and that game currently runs like balls.
Very happy the Germans are lore accurate.
The game weirdly looks built for VR...
The game is in a first person perspective?? Thought it was in third person
I had major problems with starfield as far as graphics are concerned so here's helping my little laptop can handle this
Xbox gamepass users rejoice ❤
Was it the greatest thing you ever experienced in life
Skeptical about this one, I guess we will see
