the USB power whine is such a funny thing to me. like modern innovation is supposed to make everything better but honestly if you count all the new problems that get introduced along with new features, new gear is just as much of a hassle as the stuff from the 80's.
Noise from power supplies isn't really a new thing, but what is new is the universal nature of USB power supplies. The power supply that comes with a cheap massage gun from temu isn't going to have proper filtering because it doesn't need to. Manufacturers really should account for this but of course they don't 😊
Ground Loop Isolators (GLI) fix a ground loop, wherever one pops up.
I play live with an iPad and you go into this “iPadsphere”
thinking; “oh, this will be easier. Everything can be powered off USB and a powerbank” 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🥴
I have no high pitched sound.
I'm on Mac/ Logic and connected through a powered USB C hub.
I even checked with Fabfilter Pro Q 3.

I'm routing the audio through USB.
Since you appear to use the phones out for audio,
I guess it could be a ground loop.
One thing to be aware of about the Seqtrak
is that each drum slot is a separate instrument,
living on it's own MIDI channel.
So if you want to use an external keyboard or sequencer
to drive it, you have to use an advanced master keyboard or
MIDI processing unit to remap the MIDI to be able to play the "drum kits".

It’s been hard to find videos of people really working things out on the device naturally.
I don't know why but the modx video deficit is similar. Great gear, just not enough broad interest in modx scene
Button combo you can sequence the synths too. Also you can sequence each sample individually basically adding 7 drum tracks. Also you can load sounds from thr PC on to any instrument even the first two AWM synths. Wav 16 bit 44khz

I want one of these pretty badly. My Electribe 2 is Wierdly one of my fave toys and this feels like it moves forward in a similar direction. Maybe MV1 if it had been good, minus the vocal layers?! That thing has some fantastic patches but terrible work flow and stink pads. This looks like stink pads but cool workflow, patches and live jamming.
Ah gear... Until we go full postneoliberal or sometime after late stage capitalism, my head will be full of possibilities for gear (and getting cash for gear), after that I guess survival will take precedence. With around 10 other high level hobbies and being a dad I can only dip my toes, but I do get to try most of the new ones, and this is on the list.

I agree on "They drop demos from other creators too quickly" because on Yamaha profile those are RUBBISH!!! Only one guy makes it looks nice and fun to play. Others - OMG, that was so fked up! Great to see that this is a real TOOL and in good hands can play really nice tunes!
Made me go play my Digitakt, lol. One thing I did notice is that all your samples are loaded on there, unlike the limitations on Digitakt with only so many slots loaded at once. That's a plus.
think my two biggest fears with Seqtrak are that the hardware will break or that the app will lose support in a few years. Feels like a device that has a short shelf life. Like have fun for a couple years, but don't expect it to last 10? Was that your impression?
I don't trust any gear that has 'support software' as part of it's main function. Yamaha can't control what apple, google or microsoft does with their OS, and therefore can't control the life of the outboard software.

Yeah agree. I love the idea overall, I mean an iPad or Computer is bigger than any built in screen. But we’ve all seen software become too old to be usable so it feels like you have a ticking clock.
@@michaelkonomos Solution: 1. run GUI inside and give HDMI out (but I guess it's more expensive) 2. expose data storage as USB port for flash memory or SD card and all parameters as MIDI so anyone can connect and put whatever samples they want.
Sidenote: standardization is a way to go. Anyone remembers all those more esoteric memory cards like XD?
@@dwselThe hardware functions properly in tandem with the software so this is where you're slightly wrong there because there are certain functions locked in the pc software that allows the workflow to flow as intended. Like yeah I'm aware the machine can work on its own even after they end support and its not necessary to use it, but the development on it is focused with the intention of that app and they've been completely silent about it after launch.

GLIs tend to alter the audio slightly depending on transformer quality, apparently they can skim the highs. I use USB power/signal splitter cables. More cable chaos but signal is unaffected.
Do not loose seqtraks midi dongle - it''s one and only
Mine doesnt have any high pitched sound comming out, your USB power supply is rubbish! The Seqtrack works perfectly noisless here.
