This is actually exactly what I was looking for as a retro gaming handheld. 2 Analog sticks and all the trigger bumpers, I play mostly PS1 titles so the addition of all the buttons and sticks really offers me the entire experience. Also I've always liked the vertical gameboy form factor. However, the choice of placing the analogs above the d-pad and right hand buttons is awkward.

All these companies need to do better. Slow down releases, give some thought to the ergonomics and LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY, because generally the community know what they want
I think the redesigns are there mostly because once they sell off a batch they’ll just redesign the next batch rather than just make more of the same thing. The costs probably aren’t much to make a new mould for all the free press they get everyone reviewing these minor updates. Essentially the complaints aren’t that they are bad. It’s more that they aren’t improving fast enough. If all you want to do is play old SNES, GBA or Mega Drive games. And need to replace a hand held you bought 5 years ago. This is it.
They sell at such a low price that they have to release them over and over like this. They can’t afford to spend more time on it unless they charged more. And would you wanna spend like $150 on one of these?
@@sloppynyuszi I think it was Retro Game Corps reviewing the RG353P I heard lamenting that the d-pad and face buttons could have been bigger and didn't understand why Anbernic kept them the same size as on the other devices. It seems obvious to me that they just want to keep using the same molds and design elements for as many parts as possible. They obviously want to maximize profits and crank out new devices as quickly as possible, and redesigning the spacing for the buttons on the boards and shell and making molds for larger buttons would cost more money and delay the product. Chinese manufacturers are becoming more sophisticated and are producing much higher quality products than they used to, but they seem to design products differently than other companies we're more used to.
Companies don't care about the people, they care about the money. All these dumb deals with big time companies will be above the community unfortunately. Power to the people then 🤷♂️

I love the idea of a Game Boy dmg style hand held emulator with two joysticks and four shoulder buttons. Because I don't think you can find another DMG style handheld with four shoulder buttons and two joysticks. Just wish the joysticks and action buttons were the other way around like on a play station controller.Heck a xbox style layout would probably be okay too. It just look too weird weird and possibly uncomfortable with both the joysticks on top, almost like they were trying to make it look like Micky mouse ears for the already weird face. It does look like they took a page out of the Anbernic playbook and went with two tf card slots. Which is good if you to try out different operating systems without having to re-add your games all the time.
I wish that they would put this chipset in a device with a form factor more like the Miyoo Mini or something, with no analog thumbsticks and no attempt to support anything past PS1. It seems like they always put underpowered chipsets in the more comfortable retro handhelds that can't quite emulate PS1 and demanding SNES games perfectly, and then they tack an awkward thumbstick or two onto anything that can play N64 and Dreamcast badly. So it's like you either have to settle for imperfect PS1 and SNES emulation with some of the more demanding titles not working well, or step up to a device that has a thumbstick and is geared towards playing N64 and Dreamcast very badly. They always seem to design the handhelds to be pushed just past the limit of what is fun to play on them, rather than designing something that is designed to support all the consoles they say it can support well. The other annoying thing is that I don't really like the high-end handhelds because they all run Android. One of the appealing things about these devices to me is precisely that a lot of them don't run Android, and it seems like all the cool attempts at an optimized Linux for gaming are just giving away to them giving up and slapping Android on it like it's a phone, and at that point I might as well attach a controller to a phone as buy the device because that kind of ruins it for me.

Do you think this device would be great for someone new to retro handheld who owns nothing so won't be bothered by the old chipset? Or are there better options for a new retro gamer?
It would be ok for a first timer,. If you wanna go up a little cash wise go for a Retroid Pocket 2+. Runs psp perfectly, does all the older systems without any issues. Also does 3ds and a handful of ps2 games like ff10. However it takes some tweaking, There is plenty of yt vids to help you. Also avoid Sandisk sd cards A1,A2 as they have issues with the rp2+. Adding games is simple and most every device so dont let that slow you down.
@@exiled6599 Eventually I upped my budget quite a bit and got myself a RG353P because I wanted something comfortable, can use Portmaster, and verticle arcade. So far apart from dpad being too sensitive and some screen looseness causing light leak I don't have much complaint. The customer service offered to send me conductive rubber and replacement screen for free and I'll see if I can fix the issues. I have beaten 4 games on it in the past 2 weeks. Not too bad. The bad thing is that it does not support bluetooth headphones or touchscreen on Linux so I am in the process of setting up its Android side. Hopefully some new firmware can fix that.
What's the latest emulator this thing can support to?

I don't know if it exists, but I could make a video of a Nintendo switch, say it can run the original switch games
Or a video game like that you show, I was thinking, there are those that come with a memory card, so if you download a Nintendo switch emulator and move it to the card, then put it on the fake console
It would run switch games, you could test this in a video
