Nicholas Walker My eyes are watering because even in my country (Colombia) I used to see him painting and it was so satisfying and made me want to paint, I’m talking about 18- 19 years ago. Now a days I paint thanks to him. I hope that before he passed away he knew the tremendous influence that he had not only here in America but also in other countries while we were kids 😭😔
I can’t for the life of me remember which episodes, but I remember on so many occasions getting home from school and watching cartoons on channel 13 until the joy of painting came on and I’d always be waiting with my dollar store washable paints and my plain old printer paper to try and follow along. My grandma kept almost all of those and I still can’t figure out which paintings they were supposed to be, but I had fun and made happy memories, and that’s what counts. :)

I liked watching Bob as a kid. My grandparents bought me some tapes. I remember wanting to write a letter to him and being completely heartbroken when they told me he had died (he died when I was 5). I still wish I could write him a letter. Any time I’ve been depressed or had an anxiety attack, I come to my Bob Ross playlist and can calm down. Bob’s made me want to try painting at a time when I haven’t wanted to do any of the other things that I used to enjoy.

Just because he is gone doesn't mean you cannot still write that letter. Write it, for yourself if nothing else. It is an exercise that can help you get things written down so you can work things out. And you can still send it to his family. IIRC his son is also an extremely talented artist and caring person.
Bob Ross is special to me. Even though he died before I was born and I never got the chance to actually meet him, I have mad respect and love for this man. Years ago I would get up at about 6 AM on Saturdays to paint with Bob Ross on TV. I setup my paints Friday evening after work, then in my pajamas the next morning I followed along painting as he painted. I sold one of those paintings!

I love his paintings, but his definition of a simple sunset is very different from mine.
Everytime I watch a Bob Ross episode I'm filled with happiness, yet my heart aches knowing there'll never be a new episode and I'll never get to meet him or mail a letter in and tell him how much I love his show 😥😪

Years ago I would get up at about 6 AM on Saturdays to paint with Bob Ross on TV. I setup my paints Friday evening after work, then in my pajamas the next morning I followed along painting as he painted. I sold one of those paintings!
