I feel sorry for Mary, she lost her father when she was 6 days old. Her true love Francis died a teenager. She had a turbulent life with sorrows. Her only son never came to meet her. She expected Elizabeth to help her instead she was imprisoned for two decades of her short life. At last her beheading was brutal. Moreover even her last wish was denied, being buried next to Francis II in France. May her soul rest in peace.
Seems to be the general concesus with the Tudor's. So sad to live constant fear, not to be able to choose your religion, and the smallest infraction means death. Jeez we have it easy! God Bless America and to live this century 🙏
Elizabeth would have been happy to just keep Mary locked up, but Mary forced her hand when she agreed to a plot against Elizabeth. When it came down to it, Elizabeth was reluctant to sign the death warrant and had to be pressured to sign it. But yes, Mary had a hard life and her death was brutal, but she caused a lot of her own problems.
Makes me mad that she was pretty much ran out of Scotland and forced to give up her thrown because she married the man who was suspected of killing her husband when king Henry killed 2 wife’s and was never forced to Give up His thrown!! Sexism at its finest
What a beautiful ancient cultures and historic events we have. Thanks for the video and narrating so so much for us to understand where we are coming from and where we are going.
You can totally see Henry in Mary Queen of Scotts. Beautiful presentation, just imagine if Mary would've taken the thrown before Mary 1 and Elizabeth 1, thousands of lives could've been saved!😏
Not so sure about that. She was less fanatical than Mary Tudor, but I don't doubt she would have used oppressive means to restore England to Catholicism after the very Protestant reign of Edward VI. Personality wise, I think she had a lot in common with Elizabeth. But, shoulda, coulda, woulda ,we will never know.
No she was considered to be a fanatic about her catholic religion and wanted to restore England to Catholicism. She probably would have killed many Protestants as Mary did.
Yeah no the gun powder plot was done by catholics. elizabeth saved a lot of lives and stopped a lot of disasters there's a reason she's remembered fondly and Mary of Scots isn't
Regardless of what one’s personal religious convictions are, one *should* acknowledge the facts of the historical record, which indicate indisputably that Mary Queen of Scots was rash and impulsive, and allowed her passions to blind her to the political, social, and religious realities and exigencies of 16th-century Scotland. Having spent most of her formative years in France, whose monarchy occupied a much stronger position politically than the Scottish Crown did, she didn’t seem to realize that a 16-century Scottish monarch who alienated the nobility; tried to simply ignore the great social influence John Knox’s Scottish Presbyterianism had come to have in the country; and scarcely bothered to conceal her involvement in the murder of her second husband could not possibly rule Scotland effectively. By any standard, she was a short-sighted and poor ruler. Yes, certainly her executioner did a deplorable job. That does not make Mary, however, the martyred Catholic “saint” she obviously wished to be remembered as. Her flight to England after her predictable ousting by the Protestant Scottish nobility put Elizabeth I in a politically impossible and untenable position. Sadly, though Elizabeth I’s eventually being compelled to order Mary’s execution greatly pained the talented and successful last Tudor monarch, it *did,* in truth, prevent England from being ruled by and Scotland from falling back into the hands of an individual absolutely tempermentally ill-suited for the role of queen regnant, whatever her public profession of “faith” may have been.
I think Mary queen of Scots should have just seen what happened to her cousins the Grey girls Lady Jane Grey was executed because she was a puppet of her father and the men around her poor child the Lady Kathrine Grey died of depression and Elizabeth did not let her marry and same with Lady Mary Grey be she died by natural causes overall if Lady Jane Grey or Lady Kathrine Grey never dies the way that they did they could have had a happier life well most likely Jane since she was already married and she could have had children and if she looked after herself and made sure she was not dead then in 1603 she could have been queen or her children but if she had no children then Lady Kathrine Grey could have or her son since he was still alive in 1603
I would love to hear more about Mary's first husband Francis ii king of France. I know his life was short, but theres no movies about him other than Reign. I would love to watch a movie thats starts from beginning to ending with him

Yes, and that was common execution protocol. In some cases, the more wealthy condemned would slip the executioner some money or other valuables, kind of a tip in advance to make sure he did the job in one stroke.
Queen Mary was not a subject of Queen Elizabeth. She therefore cannot be guilty of treason. I think it's understandable that after 18 years of imprisonment Queen Mary would have gone along with any plot to gain her freedom. Queen Mary mistakenly believed her cousin Elizabeth would help her.
She was betrayed by everyone in Scotland and Elizabeth was the only family she had left. Obviously she would have been desperate if she had nothing left

20 years in prison waiting for execution... Religion really has caused such evil , we'd be so much better without it. Sounds a horrific death, but she was probably killed by the first chop. Great content, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Have heard she said ow or ouch after the 1st blow, so if thats true then obviously she wasnt. Have also heard a theory that Mary was set up by Elizabeths spy who had intercepted letters to Mary & that he actually wrote those last letters to see if she'd agree to go along with the people she thought were her catholic sympathizers so she would be executed for treason. Who knows if its true or not, just what I heard from a documentary about Elizabeths spy
@@kristiskinner8542 yes, I've heard similar about the spy... As for her death, I've seen things on RUclips that a severed head remains conscious for quite a few minutes...!! Thanks for your comment 👍🏻

I find it hard to believe that people ever put so much stock into religion. In the 21st cetury, less people are religious than ever before and I look forward to the day (alough it'll be long after I've gone) when religion is just a distant memory.
Thank you for this. I know that Mum does not like pit bull dogs. I do because they remind me of old English laws and the rules of the bible. We had an English woman get attack by my pit. She retreated smartly when I told the truth to the dog about the gift giving. I also took blame for not introducing my dog to the English woman first. Her face was covered with the boxes and the dog went automatically to first responder instigator. K 9 did the same thing in New Jersey when President Trump visited a police station to give a donation to the police station when he was President was bit by the dog of the k9 unit.

She was a newborn when her father died. Made many mistakes, the worst of which was to run to the lion's den, her cousin Elizabeth, for help!
A perfect description of Mary Queen of Scott’s. Her own country didn’t want her as queen.

I lost all sympathy once it was revealed that Mary plotted queen Elizabeth's death.
Mary sealed her own fate with her treachery.
She had more right to the throne but, she sd have gone to France instead of to Elizabeth. The Tudors killed alot of people because they were paranoid.
