great video thanks very much . I have a 48v 300ah lithium battery and ive been trying to work out why my inveter ( I have tried growatt & epever inverters and chargers, ). won't charge it over 50v , I am thinking the BMS won't allow it . have you seen this before? I am wanting to try a new BMS to see if that will get it up to 54v

You can find hundreds of videos on damaged BMSs and how to easily replace them but there is no one explaining why a BMS gets damaged? As we know, BMS is designed to protect batteries against overcharging, discharging and turning OFF when one of the battery sections has a different voltage than the others. So, my question is why the BMS is damaged in 80% of cases and this effect has nothing to do with the condition of the battery?

Can you advise please. Intro duction I am aware that input via DC to DC and solar is into BMS what I am not sure is the output to blade fuses from P1 on BMS and battery + or from + and - from battery.

I've tried all yours steps, but nothing. one cell is full charged. it can be my problem? if descharge battery you thing the BMS can turns on again?

Hey, maybe you can help. I got 2x 13s heyo 60a bms for LiIon Cells here. I put them up correctly and studied the instruction very carefully. The bms outputs on a 47V charge just 36,xV. If i connect the charger it outputs 55V. The app shows sometimes the correct voltage, but in most cases its totally messed up and dont even read the cells (13s). If input the charger on it just charges from 3,2v per cell to 3,6v and stops. The "beep test" between B- & P- does not work. I've added now an other cheap 60a bms without Bluetooth and the other "nice things" and this works instantly and without any Problems. The curious thing about it: The same strange things going on on both identical BMS's 🤷🏽‍♂️

Howdy! My 16.8V (4Series Lithium Ion) had a bad battery, it turned the bms off I suppose to prevent battery from shorting out..I replaced the cells, the power output + and - only reads 12V and the power drill wont turn on. Does that mean the BMS is dead? Or can you reset it somehow

One other thing you can do - If your BMS has a UNB monitoring cable (UART) then plug it into the BMS then your computer, the 5v from the USB can turn on the BMS.

@@CurrentConnected , so I have connected the USB-UART cable to the PC and the other end to the BMS (UART-port). In the device manager I see "USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM7)" and the driver looks to be correctly installed. I then start the BMSMonitor-V1.2.8. In there I can configure the port (CommSet). I choose COM7 and click "Open Port" and the "CommSet" goes from Red => Green. But I still does not see any info of my battery. The BMS seemes to be turned off still. What more can I test?

Hi, On the bms I measure 9.79V and on the battery 13.2, how to do a factory reset, I can't access via bluetooth. Everything is well connected, the battery has been used for a couple of months, I have now used it to start the marine engine and I believe the bms is in over discharge mode or broken.

Total novice to ebiking. I’ve just found out that my gvolt ebike battery 42v is only reading 27v. I’ve been watching a few videos about the BMS . It says on some videos that I can rest the BMS . Can you tell me if this is a good idea and if you think it would help fix my issue. The only thing I can tell you about my battery is what I’ve already said and that’s that it is only reading 27v instead of 42v . Ok folks thanks in advance for any help and input.

Be careful testing continuity on a live circuit!! If you inadvertently touch the probe to the wrong lead you will be shorting out a cell or two thru your multimeter.safer to test continuity when the leads aren't hooked up to battery. Also, you should have a temp sensor malfunction that can open circuit your bms.

I have a 12S BMS that was working fine one night. charged my battery pack then the next day wasnt working. I checked the balancing cables. they read fine testing negative to every point until the final POS+ wire. the main pos(+) and neg(-) cable read 50.2v (same as - to + on balancing cables), but when the BMS is hooked up, the P- terminal and POS(+) only read 39v. 11v less than battery actual voltage. does this mean the BMS is fried or that its "sleeping?"

    • @SolarPowerChannelwithChris
      @SolarPowerChannelwithChris  2 года назад

Hard to say without looking at it, do you have a battery cell that is peaking in high voltage? Yes, it looks like it is sleeping, when the voltage is lower than the battery voltage. I've noticed that..

    Nice Video. 👍💪🏼
    I have a question.
My Scooter-Battery = 72V (20S) Li-Ion with 25Ah. The scooter does nothing with this Battery. I measured 66.3V without any load. If i connect the battery to the charger, it dont begin to charge. The Charge- and Discharge wires are the same (Y-wired) If i set a little load on the Discharge-Pins, the Voltage goes from 66.3V to zero.
I dont think the Cells are deep discharged, because of 66.3V. But what is worse.
    Do you have any ideas?
    Regards from Germany

I touched the ground on my inverter while connecting to the bms and the battery wires to the back of the inverter it sparked the pliers so now they are not working. I got the inverter to work again and when I hooked it up to the battery and bms it chirp low voltage and goes off? Help is my battery toast?
