Before y'all do your research. I was wrong. There was no "broadcast quality of 720p" CN only broadcasted in 480i back then and didn't receive digital signals until the Fall of 2007. Disregard the now pointless disclaimer.
32:49 I like the implied lore in CN City that the Titans Tower has always been there waiting to be sold, and a bunch of kid superheroes buy it and it all just clicks to the realtor like "Ohhhhhh, T as in Teen Titans!" Like, the building had no context prior as to why it was T-shaped.
I miss my childhood when I was enjoying Cartoon Network, playing video games, browsing my PC and just enjoying it all. This was my childhood. I wish Paramount would just replay the classics and use these as their intermissions/bumpers.
I remember when this bumpers came out, they air the same exact day when Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, it was like a double gift, you get a new show that also airs as a movie AND a new style for the network you love to watch!
I miss this Era so much. I'm 33 now and I wish I could go back everyday. Life was so much simpler and awesome then. I looked forward to coming home from school and watching cartoons and waking up early on Saturdays. Sigh.
Happy 20th Cartoon Network City. And thank you City Era for being part of my childhood. I'm from Brazil and I discovered Cartoon Network in 2009 during the City Era in my country.
This was probably Cartoon Network’s greatest era. I remember first getting cable a couple of years before, so I at least got to still see a little bit of the earlier era. However, this era is still how I last remember the network. I was in middle school, and it ended right as I was finishing high school. I miss these days, so nostalgic.
Always love hearing people's first thoughts and experiences with this era. It's definitely the era I grew up sitting on the floor at 3 years old watching lmao. City holds a special place in not just mine, but everyones hearts, and it's clear. Look for Vol. 2 coming October!
what sucks is the fact that CN city footage is being shown on checkered past and it makes me think "it sucks this small group of people at [as] know what we want but ultimately know it'll never happen because WBD's reckless greed & endless Max cancellation"....
Playing on my PS2 or watching CN was the jam. I really miss the vibes and aesthetic during this time of CN, where seeing the character’s lives outside the episodes was fun.
We need a hardcore fan willing to “rebuild” this era. I’d kill for even the minimal of reusing clips and scenes to make a 10 hour block to watch like it was during this era.
happy 20th anniversary cn city!!!(still remember the morning it started & excited a rebuilding project of it's being done as i fully wish cartoonnetwork would revive this era with the new series added.:3)
Man I loved these when I was a kid. Always gave off summer vibes whenever I saw them. I still don’t know why the Creeper mugs Fred or his clothes though, that’s still crazy as hell to me
I sincerely appreciate the fact that you took the time to build this, post this and add the little factoids to it. This existed. It was real and by the look of the comments as I write mine, we loved this ... Thank you very much
Happy 20th birthday 🎂 Cartoon Network city! ⚫⚪🏙️ My goodness, It's great to be back at this place again. It brings back so many great memories. And I'm sure everyone else has Fond memories of CN city as well.
man I love this so much I wish this could've stuck until at least 2010 who knows maybe we could've seen chowder flapjack maybe even the clone wars in cn city 2004-2007 was great for cartoon network :)
It’s even sadder when the realisation hits you upon viewing CN today. It’s soulless, no real attempt to create new animations or reform to adapt to the digital era. It’s like modern CN is stuck in limbo, just existing.
I'm not sure if it's on here, my favourite was the one in the metro system! I come from an island country too small to ever afford having one, so seeing it painted such a glamorous and tranquil image of the city. Looking back at it, the metro in Stockholm gave me a similar atmosphere - though I'd hardly call it bustling
Also thank you so much for compiling them in such good quality. My heart yearns for when I was a child hoping to be a teen and adult in an era with the same technology and style as the one I was going up in.
Yeah the one you’re referring to didn’t come until late 2005, so if I ever get to doing that era, it’d be included in there :) Thank you for your comments! I love reading the impact city had on everyone as a child! It’s certainly my favorite era I grew up with.
1:53 I don't remember the city era of Cartoon Network having extra ad breaks, but that CN logo was the last decent logo. 2:13 I will never forgive Cartoon Network for discontinuing their official website. David Zaslav needs to step down.
Hey guys, Happy 20th CN City Era Anniversary fellas, you know, I'm actually planning on doing a long term comic series featuring lots of situations between the characters from all eras and even from other animated shows aside from CN. All in City artstyle and the with their character designs The thing is make funny, action, spooky and even adorable moments between them and with the actual personalities they all have in their respective shows. If anyone is interested in it, I'm open to hear any interactions you ever wanted to see, production will be starting later this year on my social medias.
There's something so unique about these early 2000s 3D animations, like they all had this piss yellow sunny lighting and flat texturing but it had its own cool feel, it looks like the same animation as the mid 2000s gorillaz msuic vids too, had to look em up to see if CN did the animations, sadly they didnt but i wouldbt be surprised if they used the exact same animation software
Easily my most favorite CN era I wish they could do this era justice and do a boomerang stile and show reruns only channel or something service only dedicated to my favorite era of all time we can o ly wish
Takes me back to a time where me and my brothers would use the living room TV as much as we can before our Dad came home from work cause he would hog it to himself... I mean we did had one in the room we had to share but still.
Would've been cool to see a main cartoon network series set in this world. Probably would've been called (or at least what I would call it) "cartoon on the block"
I really miss Cartoon Network City especially during my childhood I had a dream I was running for government in cartoon network city and all the characters love me. BEST DREAM EVER!
It’s actually Numbuh 2 saying “THE WOOD’S HERE!” but the reason you’d never noticed it would likely be because when it aired they cut his audio out. So you’d only hear planks falling.
Fantastic job with bumper categorization, trivia, and overall presentation man. Will you do more CN City videos for the shows that came afterwards (i.e. Camp Lazlo, Summer 2005, Ben 10, and more). Hoping one of these days the Class of 3000 bumpers get found.
Idk why but that last one is always cool in sense everyone is playing the largest game of hide and seek I kinda wanna see it reanimated in the fusionfall style cuz it’s not far fetched to see that happen
It’s 20 years later and I’m still waiting for a Cartoon Network city series just like what I saw with justice league unlimited. That’s how that works? Right fellas?
It’s a pitched down version of a stock song. Considering I fell asleep for 2-3 years listening to that one large City compilation, (the track was also used during it’s disclaimer screen). I wanted to make this feel a bit familiar for those that have seen it.
She is a warrior so it is the perfect book for her and her sisters to read. Don't forget that she got carried away by her anger and slaughtered the monsters in the simulation. just look the video - The Powerpuff Girls (1998) Bubbles is Hardcore
Before y'all do your research. I was wrong. There was no "broadcast quality of 720p"
CN only broadcasted in 480i back then and didn't receive digital signals until the Fall of 2007.
Disregard the now pointless disclaimer.
This made CN feel alive to kid me. I didn't know half of what these cartoons were growing up, but now I appreciate it all the more.
Hell the backgrounds looked so realistic to me as a kid
We didn't know how good we had it. The last gasp of creativity before corporate blandness took over
Man being a kid in the late 90s and early 00s sure was awesome.
Same here
No matter how many times these bumpers played I never tired of them
And when a new bumper appeared it was an event.
God I miss this era
32:49 I like the implied lore in CN City that the Titans Tower has always been there waiting to be sold, and a bunch of kid superheroes buy it and it all just clicks to the realtor like "Ohhhhhh, T as in Teen Titans!" Like, the building had no context prior as to why it was T-shaped.
If you pause and read the poster, it turns out the realtor is Daffy Duck, so that’s very in character lmao
I really miss these days
Me too
We grew up in the best era. We should be thankful and happy looking at what's currently airing.
I miss my childhood when I was enjoying Cartoon Network, playing video games, browsing my PC and just enjoying it all. This was my childhood. I wish Paramount would just replay the classics and use these as their intermissions/bumpers.
0:54 You're telling me we could've gotten a cgi city *SERIES?*
Way to go Mooninites...
I remember when this bumpers came out, they air the same exact day when Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, it was like a double gift, you get a new show that also airs as a movie AND a new style for the network you love to watch!
Crossover Media has always been important to me and this is one of the biggest influences on that
The 20th anniversary of CN City! Good times of my childhood watching this before commercials started.
Strange how much of those Bumpers bring the feeling of liminal spaces, but not in a scariest way.
Man! I am sooo glad and proud that I was born in the late 90's going into the 2000's.
I miss this Era so much. I'm 33 now and I wish I could go back everyday. Life was so much simpler and awesome then. I looked forward to coming home from school and watching cartoons and waking up early on Saturdays. Sigh.
I'm 32 I wish to go back 20 years in the past to watch the good Cartoon Network shows and movies in 2004
Happy 20th Cartoon Network City.
And thank you City Era for being part of my childhood. I'm from Brazil and I discovered Cartoon Network in 2009 during the City Era in my country.
I distinctly recall wishing the shows looked as good as the bumpers did every time i saw them

25 and I still love and miss this era of CN 😭
Many of use feel the same.
Same as well :(
These were the best. Nothing felt better than to see all of the characters share a world that felt alive.
Incredible how fast 20 years are gone
Nostalgia hits hard growing up in this era
For twenty years, it's the weekend in the city... with cartoon characters!
I love these, I feel like this is what The Amazing World of Gumball's style is inspired by
According to Geoff, Gumball is the closest thing to what he wanted to do with a series revolving around City.
@@ninjserwho’s Geoff?
Happy late 20th anniversary cartoon network city
2004-2024
I wish someone remade this again by rendering from any Computer.
Playing on my PS2 or watching CN was the jam.
I really miss the vibes and aesthetic during this time of CN, where seeing the character’s lives outside the episodes was fun.
This is bringing back memories. I was eleven years old when these bumpers first aired
The fact that cn city was potentially a show saddens me I would've watched it
Watch this makes me feel a kid again. Best Cartoon Network era!
We need a hardcore fan willing to “rebuild” this era. I’d kill for even the minimal of reusing clips and scenes to make a 10 hour block to watch like it was during this era.

You remember the morning? Did you happen to catch the moment it switched over? I can’t find real evidence it rolled out the way it did.

Now this was something of a blast from the past.
So many memories of me and my brothers watching these everyday. So much nostalgia. They don't make them how they used to.
In case anyone missed it, Happy 20th Anniversary of the premiere of the 2004 CN City bumper reface!
Imagine an Ash Ketchum statue somewhere in this city.
Cartoon Network needs a new lasting era of CN City that combines new and old shows alike together!
when they cared and had hella classics now it’s just teen titans go 24/7
1:53 I don't remember the city era of Cartoon Network having extra ad breaks, but that CN logo was the last decent logo.
2:13 I will never forgive Cartoon Network for discontinuing their official website. David Zaslav needs to step down.
These go so incredibly hard. You can't tell me that some of the Gorillaz music videos weren't directly inspired by them either
My brother in christ why are you always on sam hyde, and oney vids
Thank you so much for putting this together! What an incredible nostalgia trip :)
Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for October 4th!

Cartoon Network is one of my favorite progerms. This is why I love Cartoons so much!
Best time ever
Yep 👍🏻
Reading that description- i do hope that the CN City does get recreated on unity engine. See that whole city get turned into a gmod map
It’ll be made in Unreal! We need more builders and coders if anyone is interested :) Progress is slow but moving!

20 years has passed when this came on Cartoon Network in 2004 I was in middle school 🏫 during that time I miss the old days 😊
These were so fun
THE NOSTALGIA IS REAL WITH THIS ONE!

Well, The closest we got to it is the Checkered past Bumpers.
So that means that this era, was younger than me! I’m getting old.

This was Cartoon Network at its peak...
Or one of its peaks... 😢
This was literal trip down the memory lane. Just started watching, phased out and came to my senses at the end.
12:12- i never noticed that audio. Sounds like Numbuh 1 yelling, but I can't make out what he's saying.
It’s actually Numbuh 2 saying “THE WOOD’S HERE!” but the reason you’d never noticed it would likely be because when it aired they cut his audio out. So you’d only hear planks falling.
