I'm looking for my first jetboil and this has been BY FAR the most helpful guide. Thank you.
“Rock or something” if you know, you know.
Also, extremely informative. Straight forward. Thank you.
This is the review I needed. After using a trangia for the last 20 years I’ve finally decided to give a jetboil a try. Was so confused over which one to get. This helped greatly
It's really cool that Jetboil would offer such great support! Thank you for sharing!
Really informative! I did not know that 2 of them cannot be regulated. That is very important, so my choice is pretty clear. Good video!
Thank you kindly for sharing your experience with us. So overwhelmed with all the different choices out there, but this makes choosing the right option soo much easier now!
This was 2 years ago, so did jetboil take on adding a regulator to the ones that didn't have them, for a mark 2 version? Thanks.
I am currently searching for a new stove or stove system and this video was very helpful. Thanks for making our life’s easier.
Great video thank you. I just started at REI and was confused by the array of Jetboil choices now. This helps me a lot!
Spot on 👊🏻. Minimo is my go to.
I've had the mini mo for years. It's a great stove!
EXCELLENT review on the JetBoil family of products. We are currently looking at these for an upcoming hunting trip. Thank you…very informative.
great review - thorough and cut to the chase! loved the pro tips at the end
Got a JB Zip in 2012… still using it.. looking to upgrade, your video is epic, thanks!
Thanks Mate! Exactly what I was looking for!
Man thank you so so much for this . May angels guide and protect you always . Truly thank you I feel like lots of us really needed a video like this to help us make the decision. God bless
Excellent video! Thank you! Your video made the decision easy.
Thanks for the info. I was wondering which one to get and your video helped me make the decision.
Thanks I’ve been looking at getting a jet boil and this really helps!
Awesome, glad it was useful!
I 've had a Flash for a year now, I use it several times a week with zero issues in any way.
I highly recommend it. I bought the Pot Support accessory, as well as the Summit Skillet, both I also green light for the versatile use. As such experiences, I plan on completing the kit with the SUMO and the Genesis system.
Great video, no flannel just solid infomation succinctly put. I'm off to buy a minimo. Many thanks.
Thanks man, we were a little stuck with which Jetboil to use and this was helpful!
Good to hear👍
Great comparison! I was in between the stash and minimo, but after seeing this sounds like the minimo fits my needs better. Thanks for being so thorough!
Im glad you found it helpful. Thanks for the note!
Such a through and wholesome review Thank you
Heck yea! This is exactly what I was looking for, great video
Thanks, glad it was useful!
Excellent presentation, going to order a MiniMo right now, thank you for the information.
Great information Chase. Much thanks!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Excellent video!! You really broke these stoves down!!
I hammock camp and the hanging kit for all but the stash has been a great way for me to not need to worry about level ground.
Just found your channel last night, watched every video and then wished you had more. Wish granted.
lol thanks Calen, I appreciate the support!
Thanks, This comparison was exactly the review I was looking for 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect summary. Thanks man.
You’re very welcome.
Appreciate the breakdown!
👍👍
Great video, ty. I'm going to get a MiniMo after your explanation.
Great video. Thank you!
Great video dude! Thank you. I am in the market to get one of these after having used an MST Whisper Lite for years. Your video was very helpful.
Thank you that was very helpful! Truly was. I just ordered the MiniMo before watching this and it made me more comfortable that I feel as if I got the right one. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video! Very informative.
Wow, props to you on a great video, brother. Well done!
Solid video. Thank you!
Love my Jet Boil..
I’m a Jet Boil fan as well... great overview and tips.
Thanks, Richard!
Thanks! Very informative. 👍
You’re welcome!
Still helpful in 2022! Thanks!
Awesome for the review, exactly what I was looking for! Leaving Florida in a little over a month to do Rocky Mountain Race Week If’n you’ve ever heard of it. Anyhow it’s an 8 day race in Colorado and I’ll be car camping in my Impreza WRX the whole trip. The Minimo is the one for me I reckon! Thank again Chris!!
Terrific work!!!
THANK YOU for this video!!!
This was helpful to see if the minimo would be worth upgrading to from the flash. Thank you!
Great video. Thank you for making it
Thanks so much - this video was extremely helpful!
Good to hear👍 you’re welcome!
Super helpful! Thanks!
I have the zip and have had it for yrs but haven't used it a whole lot until recently and have found it doesn't have enough space if you are heating up MRE's. It's more suited to Mountain House meals and hot chocolate/Coffee or heating up some soup. I wish that I had used it more earlier after purchasing. At the time it was around $115-125 ish Cdn.
This was exactly what we were looking for! Thank you so much for the comparison. It made the decision so much easier to go with the minimo. It came today and I can’t wait to use it on our kayak trip in a couple weeks!
Good to hear! Hope the trip was a blast 🤙
@@ChaseChristopher1 can you use isobutane with jet boil? Or do you have to have jet boil fuel? Thanks
Guess the minimo is the way for me as I just want something to use when solo or with my wife only for short small daytrips to make hot drinks with the option for heating up some food. Thanks for the great video. 👍🇦🇺
Nice overview, thanks.
Dangg didn’t know they had pans for the jet boil as well. Pretty dopee!
You don't need jetboil pans, only the pan holder...or as I do (and wouldn't recommend), hold pan over the flame
This is great and it would make a nice option to my van camper
I did a review on the ‘Flash’ I absolutely love it & it does everything I will ever need. 👍
Awesome camping stove! And I like that Garmin Instinct you're wearing too! 👌
Excellent video. I work at REI and could not have explained it better!
You didn’t mention the Mighty Mo, not that it really matters. It’s basically a Mini, with more power for faster boiling. And just the stove, no pan, no frills.
The Micro Mo is newer, and something between the Mini and Stash. Less power, no/poor simmer control. It does have an igniter. Great little stove, but expensive.
Nice video. Thank you!
Thanks for your tips!
You bet!
Appreciate the tips!
I find I can regulate the flame to a degree with my flash ....and do cook on it with the summit skillet... mostly ‘coz no spare cash atm to add the minimo and ‘coz it does kinda work pretty reasonably for cooking without burning and is awesome at boiling water!
You bet. Yeah, cooking is totally doable, just a bit more challenging without the regulator. Make use of what you have 👍👍
Yes, I too find I can regulate the gas. However, it's not by design so with minimal gas output, it is prone to the wind blowing it out.
I think I'm the only weirdo that carries this, a trangia mini (with fuel) and a wood stove.
Thank you very much!
You’re welcome!
Good review. Thanks
Wow, thanks for that, you answered ever question I had and even questions I didn't know I had lol. Ordered the MiniMo, thanks again. Cheers!
Glad I could help! Enjoy the new settup👍👍
Thank you for the review. I am on the market for purchasing a Jet Boil but don't know which one to get. You made my choice a lot easier. MiniMo it is. I will purchase it from your link. Thank you!
You’re very welcome, thanks for the support! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Enjoy!
I have the Zip, I love it!
Awesome! It served me well for a long time👍
Great tips! Also, I thought that they would all have regulators. It's good to know that you need to make sure that it has a regulator.
Very helpfull as I am thinking about getting myself a Jetboil, but I wasn't sure which one to get.
Great demonstration and advice, Chase. I like the MiniMo for car camping to supplement a single burner Coleman camp stove I use for cooking meals. To protect my canister I enclose it in a hunter's thick wool sock and have not experienced any issues. A backpacking stove that has impressed me was my first Coleman Peak 1 which lasted 37 years. In January it gave up and quit on me and I had to use a BRS for backup. I bought a new Peak 1 and I love that it has a flame regulator for boiling to simmering. However, for high efficiency JetBoil is it.
Thanks, Alexander! sounds like you have a good system going. Thanks for the comment!
@@ChaseChristopher1 PLEASE SETTLE THIS : SOME SAY YES YOU CAN,OTHERS NOT....CAN YOU MAKE A STEW OR CAN OF SOUP IN THESE OR JUST WATER?
SOME CLAIM THE COATING ISNT FOOD SAFE(BUT IT IS WATER???)
First time buyer thanks
You bet👍
Great video, very imformative thank you
I use my vintage primus 2255 stove and that' works for me.
Awesome video man
Lol..."a rock or something."
Worked in that MRE joke on the super sly 🔥
I travel by freight train across the country i use a Jetboil Zip it does a good job I also have a frying pan for it but I don't use it extra weight but it's a good invention I love the Jetboil to me it's the best but when I'm camping somewhere in the woods I prefer a camp fire but don't always have the opportunity to make one.
The Flash fits nicely into a Maxpedition 12 X 5 Botttle carrier and the coffee strainer and rod fits into its side pouch. The carrier is tall enough to carry an extra canister of gas!
Awesome...Thanks. I was given a brand new Flash. Have not had the time to experiment with it
You’re welcome! That’s a great gift, have fun with it!
I live in interior Alaska....a canister-based stove like JetBoil is problematic in cold winter camping ...that is when a liquid fuel based stove like the MSR Whisperlite works well. JetBoils are great for warmer weather camping.
We've used it in Alaska's winter with no issues.
@@Nope17612 We have had Jetboil fail winter camping in the Fairbanks area once it is colder than -20F
6:47 my dude, you can totally control the heat / flame using the flash. Took me a few tries, but got it down. Just gotta move it very slowly but like I said once you get it down you become good at it.
For sure, but it’s still not a regulator. They fluctuate heavily as the gas level changes and other factors. I agree, but it’s not the same.
Great overview. I've yet to buy one of those. I just have a Coleman bottle type that just doesn't work that good. Thanks Chase. I think Mini Mo might be my jam 🤙
You’re very welcome. I think it is a great “everything” stove!
At least jetboil took care of you. I reached out to them when my first gen Flash sleeves partially melted. They didn't offer to replace it.
Great review . Very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect information 👌
I was trying to decide myself between all four of those. Ended up with the Flash. Got it for $66 new. Works great so far.
How/where did you get it so cheap at half the retail price?
@@Ashley-og9ti got it at REI. They were cheaper last year, plus it was on sale, plus I got a free gift card from Rei for buying a pair of boots so that’s how I got it so cheap.
that is awesome trip and camping! nice video, really enjoyed watching it! Regards from Russian winter camping! Yury!
Thank you! Thanks for stopping by, take care!
great video, im a total fan. :-)
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Yes sir!
This is great video, now I know the right one for elf hunting trip
damn elves!!! i hate those little spiked ears bastards! chase a lot of them!
Great video! The only correction I would have is that the pot support does not come with all the systems but is available to purchase if needed.
Thanks! Whoops, I miss remembered… Thanks for the correction👍
Excellent presentation and much better than JBs marketing reps.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, I just got the MicroMo. I love the size and regulator. But I am super disappointed in the lid. It does not stay on in your pack or pouring. I think I am going to return for the MiniMo.
Man, Jetboil is an incredible company who can deliver in some situations that the vast majority of other offerings can't even hope to compete, that said, 99% of people would be better served by a simple MSR pocket rocket and a bottle of fuel. If your an ultralight guy/gal (whatever else you wanna be to be PC) this company should be near/at the top of your list, PCT, and a bunch of other 20+ mile a day type trails it's a great fit, but if your humping a few miles in, staying a couple days to a week, look elsewhere, you can save a ton of money for a few oz/couple lb depending on how you go
Good info 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Just got the Sumo… damn that thing is large haha. Just need to boil a liter at a time so not much else of a choice but to go that large. Works well.
Thank you for this video! I am curious how you caught your backpack on fire? I am only asking because i'd like to prevent myself from doing the same thing.
Packed it without turning the flame off.
@@chaoyang9080no, packed the pot too hot right after he ate lol
Tip: do not fill the pots to much. If the water boils over it can flow down the side and extinguish the flame. Attempting to restart after this can result in the combustion of the insulation in the burner destroying it.
I can see this channel is the idiots guide to the obvious
Perfect review. Thank you so much, Now I'm going to explore your other videos
Glad you enjoyed!
A rock or something...😉 Nice MRE reference
Jetboil marketing is amazing. They sell these based on speed of boil and fuel efficiency. If i’m relaxing in the countryside i can wait an extra 30s to boil water - i’m not in a rush. And the fuel canisters have 20 boils so why do i need fuel efficiency. I’m not hiking 10 days with no resupply - so fuel efficiency is pretty useless. I’m not saving money on fuel because the jetboil is so expensive. For car camping i use real pots and pans from home on a 2 burner stove or cast iron in the fire. For hiking i want a lightweight toaks mug that can boil water for rehydrating food and coffees. I would only maybe use a jetboil for if i was on a roadtrip and wanted a cup of coffee on the way - even then i would probably stop at a cafe. Dunno - i cant see me using these
Right on! Sounds like you have a system figured out for yourself👍
I just use my 25 year old Trangia kit. Aluminium cookware.Brass spirit stove. Lightweight , simple, will light in a gale.
I bottle of mentholated spirits will last for weeks and is very cheap fuel.
Not likely to but a jet-boil.
Right on, sounds like you have it figured out👍
Drop a video so we can learn too!
