- In this episode, host Steve Clemons speaks with Ussama Makdisi, professor of history at the University of California, Berkeley; and Ali Vaez, Iran project director at the International Crisis Group.
The exchange of direct attacks between Iran and Israel is likely to subside, but the shadow war goes on, which could intensify as long as the war on Gaza continues, argues Vaez.
And as long as the wider Palestinian issue remains unresolved, there is little to no hope for long-lasting stability throughout the region, says Makdisi, especially with the US policy of rejecting equal regard for the rights of the Palestinian people.

Paradigm shift,
By destroying the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Israel broke international law and endangered world peace. Iran responded in a very balanced way by using its old drones and missiles to do little damage.
If Israel once again celebrates aggression, it will definitely be excluded from the world community.
Iran will be a far more attractive partner for the US in the Persian Arab region than Israel.
Israel will have to accept this, unless it wants to risk an Iran-Israel war, which would also mean the end of Israel.
A paradigm shift is currently taking place and that is encouraging.
What we need now, however, is the UN's irrevocable recognition of the Palestinian state so that the Palestinian population can live in security, self-determination and freedom

This Iranian dude( Ali Vaez) is working with CIA, he is Iranian by name, however, we as Iranian knew he is not in line with our country policy and I was surprised when I have saw him in aljazeera? Israel lunched a stealth missile from stealth airplane to a stealth target in a stealth airbase. Iran pays $1000 to anyone, who find the place that were hit by stealth missile.
I don't think Iran was ever under the impression that Israel wouldn't respond. Iran had to respond in order to maintain the respect of its people. They tried to respond in such a way that Israel could dial it down without completely losing face, but I'm pretty sure that they never assumed that to be end result. After all, Israel hasn't dialed anything down for a very long time.
