    The MRL locomotives are always the highlight of the sound on the Mullen Pass.

    Yay Scott!!! I was just out in Helena last week. Accompanied my Brother on a huge trip down The AlCan Highway from Fairbanks Alaska to where our parents live in Delta, CO . Stayed a nite in the Home 2 by Hilton that night. We went down to the depot and watched the Helpers that morning getting ready to take on the pass and then charge the hill. It was a fantastic experience. Absolutely love your videos ! My Brother is not a rail fan like I am . But after that day he admitted too me " I get it now !" " I can see why you love MRL so much ." Thanks for the videos Scott!

    Nice one, how long have they been buffering mid-train helpers for? What a spectacular place btw.

      Thanks
      shay, federal requirement now to buffer against any hazardous materials. First time I've seen an oil train on Mullan, so I'm not sure if the requirement was there for a long time or not.

    Why does BNSF use both Mullan and Marias? Do the go one way on each?

    • @ScottHiddelston
      @ScottHiddelston  6 лет назад

      Bob, Mullan Pass is part of the MRL network, being on its 3rd Sub. BNSF has trackage rights here. BNSF direct trains east and westbound onto either Mullan or Marias to keep the cars rolling.

    I notice that the units are separated from the tank cars by hoppers. Why is this? and are they full or empty?

    I think that trainset could go faster if all 7 trains where spread out as evenly as possibly throughout the entire set.
