Mezco always releases Popeyes. This is like the fourth or fifth one. They makes subtle changes to outfit or will had a coat or rain slicker. Maybe more. I got the 2 pack with Bluto

This is a reissue of the first Popeye Mezco released late 2018, as far as I can tell the only difference from the original release is the box, the original release had a significantly bigger box, this release's package has been made more compact, more-in-line with more recent Mezco releases. I also really want that Bluto, but not for aftermarket prices. Also, that set was based around Popeye and Bluto fighting, but what they're usually fighting over is Olive Oyl, but there is no One:12 Olive Oyl for them to fight over. They'd do a great job on a One:12 Olive Oyl, whatever weirdly proportioned body they make for her I'm sure Mezco could also find use for with their original properties. Also FYI, Popeye's spyglass can telescope into itself into a more compact form factor.

Which is our figures to look, like they did in the cartoons and comic books. The coolest pipe, is with the smoke effect.

@@madhatterreviews6705 there is a white uniformed Popeye also. He was an exclusive. The Boss Fight Popeye Classics are great and they have fleshed out the roster pretty good and are still adding. Their Power Stars Popeye figures are good.
Juat so you know that telescope does close up like a real one but it takes just a bit more force for my liking so try it at your own risk but yes it does close up. Just trying to help i dont mean to be "that guy" lol

I grew up with Popeye cartoons, and still have a soft spot for the character. The photos people have taken of this action figure are great. Makes Popeye look like a hardcore grizzled sailor. I am tempted to buy it, but I don't buy action figures with cloth clothes. In my mind that makes them dolls, and I can't get over that.
Holy crap!! Hatter i just got this figure man and im in love with this dude lol i made him a custom boat for him to sail. Ive been using him in my stop motion videos and he looks so damn good. It's roughly 1/12th scale (a little bigger) but I made it out of real wood (popsicle sticks lol) and Popeye looks great sailing it lol I also made a port with a shack for selling goods and a bar for him to drink after a long journey lol. I don't get alot of sleep so I build and do stop motion lol. Thanks again Hatter I really appreciate you checking them out.
Only difference seems to be that this popeye has a darker paint job than the original, so the wrists stand out way more. If they matched the joints and added texture (like their tmnt) it'd be even better than the original.
