My parents grew up in the mid-20s and 30s. I don't remember them ever speaking the name of Herbert Hoover, but they thought well of FDR. For myself, I think the two Presidents with the greatest character in my lifetime were Jimmy Carter and Barrack Obama. Maybe someday I will get a chance to see what a Professor of Political Science, History and the Humanities can do, but she would have to carry a TR stick and know how to use it.

I know this is satire. Its funny too. But just in case anyone's curious as to the reason Buchanan never was married there's 2 stories. One is he was a closeted gay man. Probably not but him and his best friend Rufus were inseparable. They shared a room but not a bed and many other presidents did in those days. The more accepted reason is he was actually engaged to a wealthy woman who only died at 32. The result hurt Buchanan so much he never married or courted
