Thanks so much for the coverage!! :) Just one thing we want to point out regarding the AI structure: The symbol next to the "regular" or Agressive" title is the untie condition if multiple characters are available, so for instance in regular mode the Ashigaru will target the enemy with the highest armor in range but when they are aggressive they would target the one with the lowest value. Besides that from the sequences under "regular" or "Agressive" only ONE is executed. The Ashigaru will try to execute the first one, but if it can't be fully done then will go to the second, and if not available will try the 3rd and so on. Realize that the last one is always available (move to the closest enemy of his). Besides this Michael did a great job explaining all of the info we shared with him and we hope you'll all ask for more :). Thanks again to all of you for your interested and specially to Michael for investing part of his limited time to share with you the info about our project.
We want more, I would love to see how the AI works. Does not need to be a full game, just one encounter just to see how well the AI works. I am tired of AI that is not a challenge. I would to love to see what you have done. Personally I love to see ponts of the game were you can loose but have a save point where you can start again.

From the moment I saw it (harakiri) I have no doubt, I will go for it as soon as it comes out on KS. I'm firmly convinced that it's the KS game that nobody expects and that it's the positive surprise... for me it's a similar case to Middara.
I definitely want to know more about Harakiri. It's on my short list. The devil is in the details, and you do a good job of rooting out the details. Thanks! - toby
Yes super interested!! Wow, def will be following this one, holding off on Chronicles of Drunagor, Tanares Adventures is delivering soon so.. can only play so many games. This has some amazing potential! Would love to see skill trees, customization and leveling up of some sort. Still a HUGE fan of how Gloomhaven does leveling up. Also love how GH has 8 monster cards and after a few encounters you start to learn about what they might do. No generic move and attack.

We feel we managed to create something fresh based on several mechanics we will be showing with the gameplays you all will have access to before the campaigns starts. Once you know it at it will be just up to you :)

I don't know if they meant it to be a samurai or a ronin or really ashigaru... because ashigaru are peasants, and peasants shouldnt be rich enough to own a full suit of armor, lest carrying the symbol of status which is a katana.
Hi there, Ashigaru here is the militar rank gained for some of the members for the Shogun's Army. They have access to that equipment (tanegashima matchlock) because they are members of that army. Then there are the Kachis (another kind of enemy) who have a lower level of equipment and therefore don't have access to those and focus on sword attacks and Close Quarter Combat. :)
This game look incredible. I'm so down with backing this. Where did you get the extra previews from, like the tiles and character boards? I haven't seen them on their Facebook page or BGG page Did they send them to you direct? Also, point well taken about having previews that go beyond art and renders. That's something I've been working on for us because we're definitely a bit behind on getting that info out there. As always, thanks for the video!

Yeah great point and agreed fully! It's always nice to know how a game plays, and I always find it valuable info to know when a company shares their gameplay info as a preview and not just pretty renders or art. It shows that they are confident that the gameplay itself is a selling point too :) Half the time even on the KS page you aren't sure how some of these games play :D
Hello everyone, there is one other thing we think we should comment on. During the video there has been talk about the night/day/dusk/early morning cycles and how the game will have tiles that will vary the timing during the scenarios. Just to make it clear that there will not be several versions of the same tile at different moments of the day. There will be different light conditions for different locations. So for instance whenever you go to the cemetery it will be by night (¡surprise!) As Michael commented, this means having more tiles, since you are not going to be in a night village and the next tile be some stairs at noon, but we believe it will be worth the effort and will greatly improve the theming and immersion during the game sessions. Again, thanks to all!!
ooooooh gotcha okay cool cool. When Kingdom Hearts started their whole "x blade" with a fancy x and said "key" I looked it up and saw Chi, but not Ki. Gotcha now :D
They are pretty close to the renders :) Minis are "good". (my rating tends to be garbage, below average, good, great and top tier). They fairly flat on the x plane which limits sculpt design a lot, but detail wise they hold the detail needed, but no more than that. I wouldn't suggest buying the game for the minis. It'll be interesting to see the big baddies though!

Darklight Memento Mori Minis were realy great, but I gues you don't have that game. Not the best gameplay. To compare to an other game. What you think of Death may die and Massive Darkness? Detail is better, but the designe? I am really just asking to understand you.
This looks cool, problem I have is the theme. I personally am a big fan of any type of theme. I have one friend that is really into this theme and cowboy theme. The other two people that join my game prefer space theme, and cthulhu theme respectively. However Everyone doesn't like the other theme's to the point their checked out of a game if it has that theme. Like example I played Eldritch Horror which is cthulhu theme and the one guy was enjoying it so much, other guys however were bored and basically said " I just don't get why you like this theme so much". So what ends up happening is we end up playing standard Fantasy themed games, cause everyone enjoys them.
Me: do I need another dungeon crawler? Not really - unless it does something special Also Me: have you seen the art? Have you seen the setting? Take my money.... now!
The way you rationalize this is you focus on how the theme is different (fantasy japan). That way you can excuse this to yourself and yourself as to why you need another dungeon crawler.
Hope you will get a prototype. Finaly an other setting. Drunagor is realy not my setting avter S&S. Darklight is great, and an Asian Setting. They got me, but the mechaniks have to be great.
Ki = key. Chi = chee. It seems you have a very good understanding of pronunciation of the words. I'm not sure why this is questioned. Except for hakama. Ha ka ma. His dress thing. BTW, they are pants, with two separate legs. Yes I want to know and see more about the game.
Hi Dennis, the tap word is used there just to indicate that the next activation for that enemy won't take place. It is not about any kind of resource. Anyways, as far as we know the "tap" copyright thing is more a urband legend than a fact, and even in worst case scenario we will just change the word. Thanks for your concerns though :)
Playing Forbidden Fortress right now. The best dungeon crawler I've played. And the minis are beautiful. But good luck with Harakiri being as good as SoB.. ;)

I very much enjoy the large AI card approach to enemies. Helps to make them feel more unique from each other.
yes, AI card will be 168*120mm so it will have space enough to explain it all properly and have different behaviours for each enemy.

Isn't "tap" like a copyright/trademark by WotC? They should go check that.
