R.I.P Karen Copeland... Her vocals where simply sublime... This song was made for her... She has left all her fans with musical memories she sang from her soul.....she has gone but not forgotten.... Thanks for sharing... Keep it old school....
I recall dubbing this on a BASF Chromium cassette in a Jos-Nigeria studio on Niger Street as a teenager just out of secondary school. This particular track earned me a lot of respect from my late banker senior brother, his friends and their girlfriends. Those good old days are only sweet memories now. Rest in Peace guys.
What a tuuuunnee💃🏻. I used to watch my older sister’s getting ready to head out on the town in their 80’s gear and I learnt the dance movements and lyrics and would have a show of my own in front of the mirror. The good old days when music was music and meant something. RIP KC
Timeless classic music it's our responsibility too pass this music on too the future generations....and the good people who take the time too download wicked tunes like this are doing just that....
This is a groove that personified that time in the 80s I like to call the "military club culture." Of course this was way before the internet...in all branches of the military, you had E-club DJs spinning sounds from different parts of the country and the world, so clubbers were exposed to many different genres of dance and r&b music that we otherwise may not have heard. It was a really amazing and fun time, and for me at least, kept my mind and spirit open to the positivity that this music radiated. If you would ask me what song personified that mid 80s international club vibe, it would be this one. Karen Copeland's vocals on this track and "When Your X Wants You Back" are just phenomenal...K McCullum-Tyrell is right. Looks like Karen died at 30, so it's sad that she isn't around anymore to grace us with her incredible voice. There is no denying that the band's version w/ Bernard Jackson on lead vocals was extremely more successful than Karen's, but the sheer joy you feel on these earlier tunes is undeniable.
FALLING IN LOVE IS A SMOOTH MELLOW TUNE YOU HEARD ON THE AIRWAVES OF NEW YORK CITY BACK IN 1983. THIS IS THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT JUST PUTS A GOOD FEELING IN ANY ONES DAY!
SO happy to have been born into an era when good music was GOOD MUSIC.

Wow! This song has it all. What a beat; what a melody. Salsoul really knew their stuff.
I love this group, the "First Surface". The "Second Surface" were also great with their hit "Happy".
