Holy Moly, I found Clark. I listened to you for years on AM radio and I'm som happy to have found you again. My favorite life financial guru without judgement. Love you Clark and thank you, i'm using your advice to help my adult kids and myself toward retirement.
Clark, I want to see the list of things that are cheaper today then they were even 6 months ago. It'll be a very short list. Things we use everyday(like food and gas for example) have continued to go up in cost. Food is definitely more than it was 6 months ago.
Hertz in Germany will try to hit you up for damage over the slightest thing so be careful. Also, if you’re a Verizon customer and purchase their international usage be sure not to use WiFi calling as they will charge you extra for that. Just use the basic plan you purchased. 😊
I think Alzheimer's kicking in with clark lately he is mixing things up. He should just retired before he get sued for spreading false and information.
T-bills is a good option to get a yield on your cash. They're not as easy to buy as a bank CD, but they're somewhat comparable. The rates for one year with a CD and T-bill are very similar right now. Slightly higher than you can get at the really good high-yield savings accounts. For short-term savings, T-bills are good for things like saving for a house or car, when you're not going to need the money immediately. It's not as liquid as a savings account, because like a CD, you have to wait until the time period expires to get your money out. So T-bills are not as good as a savings account for emergency fund money, but they're a great option if you're saving up for something. One small thing is that if you live in a state with state taxes, the interest you earn on a T-bill is tax-free at the state level. You still have to pay taxes on it federally. Hope this helps! 💚
Yes I wrapped up some money in cds in my bank account and fidelity. This is the first time in my life I purchased a cd, but 5% fdic insured is really hard to pass up, and I found myself a little too highly invested in stocks so I’m trying to get my stocks vs bond ratio to look a little different. Thanks for mentioning the cds and the warning about the window closing on them.
Yes, CDS are insured by the FDIC, an agency of a bankrupt government that is so far in debt that it will never be able to pay it back! Does that make you fee safe? For me, FDIC insurance is not a big selling point for CDs. If you want to diversify out of stocks, I recommend a High-Yield Corporate Bond Fund. That can pay out 6 or 7% monthly dividends with very little risk. Most US corporations are 1000 times safer and more solvent than the US Government! Corporations are required to balance their books and repay their debts. Banks? The government? No, forget it!
Clark is right about credit scores lowering when you reduce lines of credit BUT older people generally already have assets in place and don't really need a super high score because they aren't taking out mortgages or making the same purchases a middle aged person would
One thing to note regarding the viewer with the question regarding the Amex gold card: Because that is a charge card, it can only be downgraded to another charge card product. Amex will not let you swap out a charge card for a credit card, so this particular person has no option to keep that 20 year credit line open except to downgrade to the green charge card which would make no sense in their case.
What's really weird is that always encouraging other people to join the military service. But NONE of his 3 kids EVER been in the service. Such an oxymoron. Double standards.
Clark didn't mention the Costco Citi Card rental insurance, which acts as primary outside of the United States, is there a reason he doesn't use it when traveling abroad?
Brokerage CDs are harder to sell earlier and do tend to have an early "recall" clause, where they can terminate CDs earlier then you signed up. Caution.
Great that you all could take European PTO to go on a European holiday. 70% of European workers have a labor union and most mandate workers take 1 month off each summer. Most workers like myself in the US can not take more than 1 week off at a time due to workplace culture and perceptions.
Inflation...What do you see is down?..gas is up 50 cents a gallon in Minneapolis..groceries remain high + 3% increase....People need to calculate that even if the Federal Reserve is successful at getting inflation down to 2% that is still AN INCREASE
Clark really thinks inflation is at 3%???? What is he on? Yes, there may be 1 or 2 items cheaper than a year ago but that's because of unusual circumstances. Eggs are the only thing that are cheaper than a year ago and I think butter came down just a small bit. My insurance, taxes and utilities are FAR more expensive than a year ago. So much in fact we are planning to move to a cheaper more rural area in another state. Seriously, Clark is so wrong about this. I am losing faith in his information he is passing along. Seriously Clark is so wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion! Team Clark will discuss. 💚

Really enjoyed your podcast, but Prague is in the Czech Republic, not Germany.

Most credit card companies are no longer Net 30. Most give only 25 days or less from the billing date.
Great advise on CD’s Clark! What is your advise on putting money in short term T-Bills? Thank You

I believe tbill interest is state and local tax free across all states not just TX

To each their own but I can’t imagine renting a car in Europe when the mass transit is so great. It’s the number one reason life in Europe is so easy.
If traveling with a family it may not be cheaper to take trains and planes.

Airport taxes at Heathrow is 4 times what Paris charges (always subject to change), Clark can you cover this sometime 😊

Cheaper than a year ago? I haven't seen it
I don't even worry about prices. Just work with what I have and it all works out. But I do have faith.
What is cheaper than a year ago? Eggs. That is it here in SW Va.
California eggs cheaper now too!

Where you finding 5 year CDs? I can only find 19 month at UsBamk.

We just did a 45 day cd w our local credit union w 4.75 % 1:25

Google Nexus 6P & 5X class action lawsuits were paying out 300+ (the cost of the phone) if you had the correct documentation.
Thank you Team Clark.

Clark…..my c.card gave me a large limit then a few months later they decreased it! Can you explain why maybe?
Chase?
Inflation is at least 10% based on my experience, all the numbers are a total sham
Keep the poles on the left side of the plane.
Where did you rent a Tesla Y for 30 Euros per day? !! :)
She tends to exaggerate. Typical jumping beans. Latina. I know she liies alots.
Love your travel experience! I learned so much!!!
I didn't know that's what a CD is. We're the lender lending the bank money.
You got it!
CDs 9 to 12 percent in a year.
?
Whatever country you are in, use the LOCAL currency!!!!!
Good morning, Clark & Christa!
Nothing I have brought is less..other than gasoline down a bit... Nothing Else..zero

No, he is not wrong. The current inflation rate is 3%. Google it.
