It’s a bit strange how applicable and well-timed this is. I’m starting graduate school at Cornell next week coming straight from a small state school. Thank you for being an encouragement to everyone! Keep up the good work, sir.
You're an inspiration, so how hard is it for a smaller school undergrad to get into an ivy? Do you have any insights because I intend to apply to the ivys etc. Too! Thanks!
Veridian R Just try to maximize the potential of your undergraduate institute. I was involved in leadership roles of several relevant student organizations and conducted undergraduate research through an independent study. I worked hard, but many people work hard. I would say two of the best things I did was to pursue exceptional grade marks but also pick a couple of influential professors and build meaningful relationships with them. The chair of my department and my favorite professor were two of my best allies when it came to writing me letters of recommendation to top programs and connecting me with appropriate resources.
Hi man, this is gold for me. I'm going through a lot to trying get into a good university in spain, putting all my effort but I felt quite like I don't belong to a university that great, but definitely I need to belive in my self. Thank you and keep it up
Adriana Leon it’s not about when you finish, that’s mainly you subconsciously comparing your path to another person(s) life. It’s all about you just finishing and crossing that line! How many people do you know or have known that can say they attended a prestigious school? Who cares what others think, you are making this investment for the better of your life, not those that perceive you to be too “old”... 33-35 with a degree from a school like that sounds great to me!
What a good video! People fail in different and unique ways, and while impostor syndrome is just one of those ways, it is an important topic to cover. Good on you for covering it!
I think that one of the mistakes I made after I left the military was not trying to go into the main field I wanted to go into. Heck, I am still trying to figure out which one I want to self study in right now until i can even afford to get a degree in. You always have something that you regret. Things that you will love to go back and change. School is one for me.
It’s been a refreshing posts you have today...chilling after a hectic online working from home today...and after watching your channel, it brings me back to my college and graduate school days... thanks for sharing your insights on overcoming impostor syndrome, I guess that hits me sometimes and you’re right - keep focusing on your strenght and you will go past it without you knowing it ...
I am from Pakistan. It is amazing to see that how this video being filmed in Stanford is inspiring me to strive and work hard for myself. Thank you for being such an inspiration.
Great Video! Are you by any chance in the SSRP program? An undergrad in my lab is doing it right now and I noticed some similarities in your schedules. If so I might come by your poster :D
You also need to believe in yourself for the sake of the rest of us, by that I mean if someone like you can't believe in yourself, how can the rest of us belive in ourselves?
Recently got my A-level results bt it didnt come out so well just 2A*2A, and also got rejected by my dream school-> ntu in singapore but thanks for ur video which inspired me so much to do well even in local university 💪🏻💪🏻
You are pushing far too hard for accolades. Finish school and actually EARN a living then you will EARN accolades. Until then stop patting yourself on your back for getting into a good school. I know many a graduate students waiting tables.

Sr Courrau feel the same. I’m 30 and got accepted into a prestigious university and my age sometimes makes me feel I don’t belong here.
