No offense!! But I think that the last few minutes if The VVitch, answer the question very clearly, as to who was responsible! I've seen the movie no less than 7 times! And the main thing that I've entered disagreements over, was whether or not it could be considered a happy ending? I vote yes! I'd say more, but don't want to spoil it! Although it's been out so long now, that anyone that's that interested, has likely seen it! Did you know that every single detail of the movie, down to the smallest details of the sets and wardrobe, are historically accurate? Eggers certainly did his homework!! I wish that he'd make a sequel! I'd love to see what all happened after that final scene! And also! The language spoken at the Witches Sabbat (gathering,) is a real language! It's called Enochian! And is said to be the language spoken.by Angels! Which is really cool! If only they had offered that as a foreign language option, when I was in school! 😹

Hello, I haven't been here in awhile but I saw you comment over at my place. This looks great, an improvement for sure. And this is one interesting comparison. Creative video!

I'm very proud that some of my ancestry is from a places (Wales and Cornwall,) where Paganism held out longer than most! And! We were also so steeped in sorcery, that Cunning Men, Wise Women, and Magicians, would often like and say that they were Welsh! In Cornwall, there was at least one or two large revivals of Paganism, when they saw that Christianity wasn't delivering on the promises if blessings and better lives, that the missionaries gave! From what Ive heard and read, at least! In any event, I've had a deep fascination and love, for Witches, and Paganism, since I was a very small child! My grandma still has my first ever drawing, proudly displayed, on the side of the fridge, at her and my grandpa's house! It's of a Witch, flying across the Moon, with a cemetery beneath her! It also benefitted me, in that my grandparents had me at least half the time, or often more, from the time I was born, until I met my husband, shortly before I turned 19, and moved back to his hometown with him, in the Northwest! They encouraged a love in me, of reading, learning, using my imagination, and being creative and artistic! And so, I learned to read at a younger age than most! And was far better at reading, and spelling, than at least the majority of my classmates! Due, at least in part, to the fact that I'd already read all the books on Witches and Witchcraft, The Witch Trials of Europe and Salem, Folklore of Europe and North America, and Mythology, well before I was done with Elementary School ended! And so, by the time I was in 4th grade, I was reading at a college level, because I wanted to read the books on my favorite subject, in the library's adult section! It was a memorable day when I first came across a copy of The Modern Witch's Spellbook! Which I might still have a copy of, some where in storage! And no! Not the library's copy!! Some one stole that one, years before I bought mine! 😹

Very nice video. Religious horror is among my favorite sub genre of horror movies so this definitely piqued my curiosity.

I loved both Haxan and The Witch. They were both very dark and artful at the same time. Not to mention a lot of disturbing imagery. I thought the filming of Haxan was fantastic, especially for a 1922 silent film. The Swedes did a great job.
