This is typical Hedgehog Engine (2005) activity, nothing abnormal or out of the ordinary here: We used to clip out of bounds all the time, back when the game launched in 2008, I played on Revision 00 of the PlayStation 03 version up until the time came to get the DLC (which functioned best on Revision 02 of the Disc version, BLUS30244; if you had the Digital version, NPUB31204, it was apparently the same as BLUS30244 Revision 02) and I can easily admit that it was genuine fun finding ways to either break the game or even set early World Records in the Glitched category; the fact that you can complete Crimson Carnival (Eggmanland) in about Seven Minutes and change with an S Rank based on Time Bonus alone made these glitches fun to do, would be nice to see more people do Full Story (Plat% + DLC) runs to show memorable moments such as this and also find newer ways to break old stage times to the extreme. (:
@@Amir-qz4bnthe xbox one probably could have ran unleashed fine, the problem is that the xbox one emulated 360 games which is why only like 300 of them were ever actually supported, and because its emulating the 360 that means it both a: takes significantly more power to run than what the 360 had to run (same reason theres no ps2 emulator on something like a wii u even though it's obviously more powerful), and b. Its stuck to the same limits of the 360 meaning it has to artificially limit itself to making the game think it's running SHITTIER HARDWARE then what it's actually running. The xbox series x is different in that instead of emulating the 360 it simply has the necessary hardware and libraries/dependencies to natively run 360 games, meaning it doesnt have to artificially fuck it's own ass.
I've only ever run into one glitch in 06 and it's when I accidentally moon jumped as rouge. It was only game breaking because I was dicking around and got stuck atop the castle
And this is why our timeline may be a decent outcome: In one where '06 came out finished, maybe their Unleashed did not, discrediting 3D Boost forever in its cradle so they never got the rush of Gens.
Hmm interesting. I didn't think Unleashed was infamous for having glitches. I thought it was quite polished with mainly just framerate problems. I also saw another comment on here saying that earlier releases of this game were apparently more glitchy, so they fixed in later revisions. How true is that? Is that for both xbox 360 and ps3. However, I saw the speedruns which are quite broken and insane that use glitches like this! Reminds me of the mach speed sections from 06. How easy is it to activate m and d speeds? Looks like you might have accidentally done that here!
I played 06 for the first time a few months ago on my PS3, legit had a notepad open to write down all the glitches and bugs the game was notorious for just for fun, maybe a RUclips video of my own or something. Finished the entire thing, purchased all the Gems and shit from the stores, completed all Town Missions. I encountered 2 bugs, yes just 2, which weren't even game breaking, less than a dozen of glitches and the game never crushed or froze or anything. I didn't even have a loading screen issue as most people did, they lasted around 8 to 15 seconds and if you don't play Town Missions they're not that frequent (although I did play Town Missions and there were a lot of loading screens indeed). Only undeniable issue was the horrific frame rate on most enemy encounters. I liked the platforming, I really like the graphics, I loved the settings, I adore the story, the soundtrack and sound design. People hate 06 for being a broken mess, I must have played a different game cause other than the inconsistent frame rate the experience was very pleasant. I played Unleashed right after and it was unironically more broken than 06 (and that's not hating Unleashed, I think Unleashed is a better game than 06, but I encountered a lot and I mean A LOT more bugs in Unleashed).
I'm just thinking the reason no-one is replying to you is because they are pissed off that you say Unleashed had more glitches than 06 when you played it.
I think unleashed bugs differ from different systems i'm playing on the xbox 360 version and the game feels fine. (Playing on a xbox one system cause 360 broke lmao) I mean I noclipped once and it was with the phoenix boss fight, had to kill myself in order to reset.
@@Electrical010 You are correct, there's always a difference on the amount and type of bugs and glitches with each system. For instance, Crash Twinsanity plays better on my XBOX than it does on my PS2 and you know, other infamous cases such as the PC launch of Batman Arkham Knight or the console launch of Mass Effect Andromeda. I'm pretty sure 06 was a PS3 exclusive however so, at least when it comes to this game, there's no system argument to be had. Glad Unleashed runs well on XBOX tho!
the reason people call 06 a buggy mess is because most of the time they go hunting for the glitches instead of playing normally. or they just got very unlucky

The fact that you could run along that surface you weren’t supposed to touch just shows how much work was put into unleashed
Yeah it also shows why the game had so much slow down too. I still love it though.
Having collision on all surfaces is actually less work.
Actually im pretty sure it mostly shows some of the engine's flaws lol
