Lauren Hadaway's answers in this interview are such a gift. She provides fascinating, thoughtful, and intimate insights into the directing process. But she couches those answers in a totally real and refreshing way. I hope she is able to maintain this feat of charming raw honesty throughout the monotony of many future press junkets of what is looking to be a long and fucking awesome career.

There's a trick I do when I watch a movie. I can tell if it's directed by a man or A WOMAN. This one was OBVIOUSLY DIRECTED BY A WOMAN. There are some good female American directors, but THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THEM.

      Ridiculous and pointless comment.
