I’m a midwife and was headed home (1.5 hrs) from an all night birth this morning, and was getting pretty tired my last 30 min. Then I remembered it was Monday morning and the podcast was out. Thanks for getting me home safe with a smile on my face ❤
If you only have a small amount of peanut butter left on the knife, you can wipe it off on the other slice because it's not enough to get back on the knife for the second jelly spread.
It’s Wednesday morning and I only just finished this Monday episode. It took me so long this week I thought I had just finished Wednesday’s episode and was gonna have to wait FIVE DAYS until another Ghostrunners… 🤦♀️ Think again! I have a whole new “Win”sday episode to listen to! Two episodes a week is such a blessing 😃
From a person who had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches 200 times a year for at least 12 years, I consider myself a PBJ expert. I have eaten them made everyway. I can assure you the absolute best way is to mix the peanut butter and jelly in a bowl prior to applying them to bread. Make sure to really whip them, and then apply with a spoon. The ratio is 2/3 peanut butter and 1/3 jelly plus an extra dollop of jelly. Which is slightly more that 1 I know. It doesn’t have to be cut but if it is, it has to be diagonal.
I’m such and old lady, but jam is fruit and sugar. It contains mashed fruit pieces. Preserves is pretty similar to jam, but you don’t smash the fruit. Jelly is just the fruit juice, usually with sugar and pectin, Marmalade is a citrus spread that includes the grated rind. My husband would make “princess sandwiches” for the girls mixing the peanut butter and jelly. Psycho. White bread. Spoon for the jelly, butter knife for the peanut butter. Not too much peanut butter, don’t want to choke. Also, not too much jelly, just want enough sweet, but not disgustingly sweet.
I packed pb and j sandwiches for my husband and I to eat in SDC while we were there. When I'm packing them to eat later, I learned to spread a thin layer of pb on each slice. Then, I mix the jelly and pb in a bowl with a spoon and put a layer of that on one side. It keeps the bread from getting soggy. And, I always grew up mixing the pb and j in a bowl for sandwiches.
We buy the peanut butter with the oil at the top. After YEARS of storing it upside down, my husband read the label. It says to stir once and place in the fridge. It totally works 🤦🏼♀️
How my Mama taught me, and I never found a reason to change: Any bread, literally, we had all kinds, wheat, white, potato, seed and grain. Then I grab a plate, the peanut butter (I think we typically had Skippy or Jif? Probably whatever was on sale 😅), the jelly (ALWAYS grape when I was a kid, because I hated the seeds in strawberry, but now I'll use either), a knife for the peanut butter and a spoon for the jelly (again, this is how I was raised, my mom always said the jelly was easier to get out with a spoon, and I 100% agree). Thin layer of peanut butter on BOTH slices, thus the jelly doesn't soak through the bread. I wipe off the knife on the side of the jar to save any extra peanut butter, then use a paper towel to wipe the rest off before I toss it in the sink. Then the jelly just goes on one slice, but I'm a big fan so I put lots of jelly (my mom would always get mad because I used so much up as a kid😆), lick the spoon and toss it in the sink, and then put it together. As a kid I wanted it cut into squares and would eat every tiny bit but the crust, now I just eat it whole but I don't think I have a go-to first bite.
The GOAT PB&J: Toast two pieces of Dave’s Killer 21 Grain bread Peanut butter on BOTH SIDES BRAD Strawberry or mixed berry jelly on one side Slam those bad boys together Corner bite
I also do peanut butter on both sides! I do like the jelly as well, but I don’t want soggy bread - and I love some peanut butter. It has to be creamy cause the crunchy stuff isn’t salty enough.
Midgie, here! As long as the bread is toasted, the PB crunchy, and jam used instead of jelly, I am not too persnickety about the specifics. Also... Oliver just showed me the Branson discount code...
In my family my brother and I always use the knife and put it halfway over the sink like we’ll use it again even tho we definitely won’t. I feel like the laziness just makes it worse tho because then we have to yell at everyone in the house “what was this knife for” if we want to use it. Idk why we don’t just get another out of the drawer but the habit just sticks for some reason
1. Nowadays, I just go to the events for Alvaro 🤌 2. I was rightfully worried about my fantasy team because I was eliminated this week 🫠 3. I only live life for content and the bit 🎙️
Sounds like Jake would’ve gotten a bigger reaction from the lottery convention crew if he acted out his PB&J making for them…it’s quite the contentious issue!

Izzy was sitting next to Brad 😂

Peanut butter and honey is where it’s at! 🤌🏻
I was one of the 4 girls who asked for a photo at the end of the day and me and my friends wanted to say we love you and awesome
Peanut butter on both sides!! Then some jelly wherever who cares about jelly I love peanut butter

“People thinking it’s cute that they’re ‘quirky’ is so annoying” [Proceeds to describe in depth how they each make a sandwich]
Brad - gonna need that pizza recipe. I love anything with goat cheese.
i also saw you in branson as well but was to nervess to talk to him!!
Loved the jingle 😍
The main difference between jam and jelly is that jam is made with the whole fruit and jelly is made with fruit juice.
Missed opportunity to title this episode: Still Buzzin’ About Branson!
Love this thumbnail 😊
It's super important not to get peanut butter in the fluff, either. If you do, the fluff will have hardened PB flavored chips.

Made a PBJ as the conversation was happening.
Peanut butter and white corn syrup mixed together, no jelly. This will wreck any health journey.
Grilled PB&J...? 🤤 YUM
Anyone else...?

Creamy Peter Pan peanut butter is the best.
Used to bale hay for old man Bill he’d work ya hard, but treat ya fair
I love the mental image of Gay Bolivar fighting though a picketing line of hula dancers 🌺🪧🥥💪🌈🤙 8:15
