Hi Sylvia, wishing you a very good Christmas and a great New Year. The lighthouse at the top of the Oberalppass is there because it is the source of the Rhine. It is a small scale model of one from Rotterdam at the mouth of the Rhine. There was originally to also be a ship to go with the lighthouse but it has never arrived. The road from Andermatt to the top of the pass is a good one for bikers when it is clear of snow.
I am speechless from all the beauty. It is Christmas Eve and 18c where I live in the US, which makes seeing these incredible views so much better!! Merry Christmas Sylvia!

Hi Sylvia, wishing you a very good Christmas and a great New Year. The lighthouse at the top of the Oberalppass is there because it is the source of the Rhine. It is a small scale model of one from Rotterdam at the mouth of the Rhine. There was originally to also be a ship to go with the lighthouse but it has never arrived. The road from Andermatt to the top of the pass is a good one for bikers when it is clear of snow.
