Awesome video as always, Scott. Getting started with wireless and your videos have helped tremendously. Keep up the great work, and thank you, appreciate the time you put in to your content.
Thanks for all of your great reviews Scott. I have used some of these wireless systems but the Lekato UHF is the worse when it comes to sound quality. It's high-mid range is so muddy compared to the x-vibe u2 2,4Ghz, the Ammoon 5,8Ghz or a decent cable. I only realized it after destroying (boosting highs and mids) in some great helix presets.
The lekato ws70 right? That one does seem to have the least favorable reviews. It works well for me, as well as a lot of other people. But it does seem to give some people trouble for sure
Thanks, Scott. Your reviews are great for us part-time "weekend warrior" musicians who need good gear but don't have the budget for a Shure or Sennheiser type system.
Awesome! Thanks for the comment. That's what I was hoping would help people out! I know some people cannot afford the $900 wireless that I recommend. So I'm glad many people are finding this content helpful!

Another great video. I bought the swiff on your recommend and I’ve been happy with it. Solid connection, good range, no lag. Maybe just a little hiss added compared to a wire. But great for the price.
I picked up the Lekato WS-70 system based on your reviews. Thanks for all the great info. Recently I got 3 sets of the Lekato/Joyo MW-1 XLR Wireless systems.
Nice! Good choices 🤘 I’m actually reviewing a new wireless XLR by Kimafun on the 902-928mhz spectrum. So far it’s working great. Video should be out within 2-3 weeks on it

I don't think I get drop outs in particular, as much as I get pops and crackles through the system. Do you think that means I am on the wrong channel or frequency? Great video by the way.
Hmm… “pops and crackles” sound like something different. Sometimes I get that, but not often. Usually interference is when it cuts out. When you change the channel does it go away?
@@ScottUhlMusic on The Phenyx Pro PTG-12 I can’t ever tell what channel it’s on. I also have the Sennheiser Ew G4 which also gets those crackles sometimes but is way more reliable. This was great info. Our bass player has the lekato 5.8 system it usually works well but occasionally doesn’t. So our guitarist ended up getting the exact same system. Sometime the 2 systems mess with each other. I would love for my guitarist to get another system
Yup, limited channels are available with these wireless. The more cheap wireless you have all at once, the more likely they are going to get a drop/interference. Especially if everyone is using the same one. Try the Swiff Audio WS 50 on 900mhz range
Thanks for all your work posting these reviews 😊. I'm having distortion issues with the Boss WL20 and my passive mandolin pickup ... so might try Brian Fay and Swiff WS70. I'm keeping 5G band free for the tablet mixer.
5G does decently well because there are more available options for those frequencies than 2.4ghz. So you can still do a 5.8 system, just leave it away from your mixer 🤘The NUX systems are supposed to work well with active pickup type situations too 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks. I got the ammoon 5.8, like yours, but when plugging straight into a Behringer XR18 on gig one Day... the tablet disconnected. (Using 5.8 modem). So my advice would be to leave the 5.8 for the digital mixer.
Yeah if it’s right into the mixer, that might cause dropouts. It’s a finicky game with some of these wireless for sure, and it involves trial and error 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic understand you mentioned the NUX B5RC works for acoustic, but what about the C5RC (same in your experience)? Did you have any issues with its TRS style jack that has a battery ground? Cheers
Thanks Scott, love your videos. I just ordered the Phenyx PTG-12 and Lekato wireless system before I watched this but sounds like the Phenyx may have issues with other 500mhz if there are many using that frequency. I do have a Sennheiser G3 IEM system that runs in the 500 range. I hope the Lekato doesn't have any issues with my Kemper, I don't use active pickups either.
I currently use the Ammoon 5.8 for active pickups (based off of your review of course). Its on my to-do list to pick up a few more of the other frequencies.
Nice! You got one before they disappeared off of Amazon :) haha. I still have that one, and it's a good unit! The Swiff Audio WS 50 I think would be a good backup for you. Thanks for the comment.
Very helpful stuff. I actually have a PRS SE Piezo that has 2 separate outputs (piezo and mag) and used to have so many dropout problems using just 2.4 wireless systems for both. Per the advice I now use the Boss 2.4 for the mag and NUX 5.8 for my Piezo and it’s worked like a charm (the Swiff Audio is my backup). Thanks for the help!
Having a great experience with the 5.8 from Lekato. That system with the UHF from Lekato full the needs for me. Now if I can win the giveaway, I'm covered! Another great video. Thx for putting these out there

Great video as always. Thought I would mention -- I love the Brian Fay system. But mine failed. But here is the good news - they made it super easy to get a replacement, and shipped it the very next day. great system, great company. Feel free to give me another one :)
Definitely will be watching more videos. Just found your channel tonight. Subscribe as well I appreciate the simplicity I have been looking into setting up my own iem system. I have a xr 18. With two phenix pro iems. Last thing I have been looking for is a set of wireless instrument. To be able to allow for less cables during load in and load out. Regardless if I win or not you for sure got a fan. Keep doing your thing
I had the G10 and it died on me within 3 months. Was looking at the G10S until I stumbled upon your videos. I'm going to try the Amoon first. Although they are not available on Amazon anymore I have noticed that you can purchase them from Walmart.
I have the Getaria and a Westshell which has the same case as the swiff. I play bass and do not move around much but it is so nice to not have the cord.
Nice! Any of these can take the place of any 1/4” cable. It just depends on the setup/pickup because some give a little bit of a buzz when you play depending on the setup. I let my violin player borrow 2… and 2 of them were clipping in her setup. I have so many of these I cannot remember which ones I lent her. So I would try the Swiff audio WS50 first and make sure it works for you 👍
My singer/guitarist just bought one and he loved it (cool design), but unfortunately he left it in his backpack weird and it broke haha. But it was a cool unit until that happened!
Good video. A question - what if you have 2 or 3 people in a band using a wireless 'plug and play' system on the same frequency band, but different makes/models of wireless system - will everything work ok, or will you get dropouts because they're all on the same frequency band? Then again, surely within each frequency band there is enough space for multiple systems. So let's say the guitarist has a wireless system made by Harley Benton on 5.8Ghz, the bass player has a wireless system made by Nux but also on 5.8Ghz, and singer has an XLR plug and play 5.8Ghz system for their mic by yet another manufacturer (maybe JOYO) - will they work ok together? I'd love to know your answer. Thanks.
The more cheap stuff you use all at once, the more likely you will run out of channels. Depends on the room, depends on the frequency, depends on the wireless. Best rule of thumb is the more wireless you have at once, the more expensive wireless you should use and the more frequency coordination you should use. Not always… it can still work most of the time. It’s just best practice
I got the 5ghz wireless Lekato ones, and it KILLS wifi on my iPad, and other transmitter receivers. The NUX B-5RC though have been SOLID. Highly recommended.
I'd love a free wireless system! I had an old system but it's on no longer legal frequencies so I don't use it anymore (ahem) but a legal system would be great! Thanks for your videos, they are really useful, informative, and entertaining! Cheers, Chris
Most of them do. I can’t know every single pickup and guitar style, so my advice is to try it once you get it, and if it doesn’t work to return it. If you don’t want to risk that, save up money and get an entry level Shure or sennheiser system 👍
Hey Scott love the channel and subscribed, I play bass and bought the Lekato 5.8 but they would cut out once in a while (no clue why). Now I'm gonna give the NUX a try, is the 5.8 still better than the 2.4 on this brand, or is there something better around this 150-200 mark? TIA
I would follow my advice in this video and do one on 900 and one on 5.8… so if 5.8 is giving you trouble, you switch to the 900 and vise versa. Entry level Shure BLXR is $400, and is definitely a great unit if you want to take wireless seriously instead of the cheaper stuff. But using the tips in this video is a good way to use cheap gear well 👍
Thanks for this real-world input! :-) Do these wireless systems properly reproduce higher and low-end frequencies, such as those from acoustic guitar upper and lower harmonics? Or is there tone suck? I‘d love to have one for my acoustic gigs, but if they suck high (or low) frequencies due to catering more to electric guitars, then I‘d rather stick to cables. Side note: A whole bunch of digital effects pedals - including many really high-end ones with really high sampling rates - suck harmonics and make acoustic guitars sound more mid-centered, metallic and unnatural (due to missing harmonics).
Thanks for watching! My honest option… I don’t hear a tone loss when using this. However, I’m not an audiophile or tone purist. If I get a useable tone out of these, I’m happy. If you are asking in that much depth, my assumption is you are more of a tone purist. In that case, I always recommend going Shure or sennheiser (which I’ve reviewed many on this channel). You can always try one of these out and return it if you don’t like it. They are cheap for a reason. But I still recommend them for musicians on a budget who understand their limitations 👍

If you want to save a little money, this one is also good depending on how many wireless are on stage at once: ruclips.net/video/k5OM4GUJNvQ/видео.html
Thanks for the information
Thanks for watching!
I have the Getaria set and they do pretty well! I wanna try the Swiff set though.
Definitely worth it 🤘
Yet another great review!
Thanks David!
Good stuff as always 👍 Currently I only have a 2,4Ghz one. Definitely makes sense to have different ones as a backup.
Yup, especially with 2.4ghz being your main one!
Love your reviews
Thanks!
Scott over here just giving away wireless to the world 🙌
haha I'm going to get more people on board with my addiction :)
@@ScottUhlMusic personally I love a clean stage the only thing I need now to be 100% is a battery pack for my HX Stomp and boost pedal
@@rudyzee6427 I have my HX Stomp as a battery powered thing now lol. I use this: ruclips.net/video/-RbykZwyzMY/видео.html
Good info as always
Thanks John!
Great video ss always. Cheers
🤘🤘
I love the Lekato ones...never give me a problem. Thanks, Scott!
Lekato makes some good stuff!
If you are only using 1-3 other devices in the 500mhz range, you should be fine with the PTG 12! But as always... just test it once you get it.
Love your stuff. Keep the good stuff coming!
Thank you!
Good stuff as always Scott. Hey can you recommend a digital mixing console 12 channel for less than $500? Cheers man.
Thanks, and yes, the behringer xr12 👍
I currently use the Ammoon 5.8 for active pickups (based off of your review of course). Its on my to-do list to pick up a few more of the other frequencies.
Nice! You got one before they disappeared off of Amazon :) haha. I still have that one, and it's a good unit! The Swiff Audio WS 50 I think would be a good backup for you. Thanks for the comment.
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks! I will add the Swift Audio to my cart. I tried the Lekato before the Ammoon and it did not work with my actives.
@@ChaosDP Let me know how it works for you! A lot of people say the Swiff works with their pickups... but remember to always try it!
Awesome! Glad it's working for you :) Thanks for the comment!
Having a great experience with the 5.8 from Lekato. That system with the UHF from Lekato full the needs for me.
Now if I can win the giveaway, I'm covered!
Another great video. Thx for putting these out there
Nice, great choices for sure! 🤘
love your every content brother .keep on doing !!
Thanks 😊
Hey @Scott uhl is it true I am the winner?
@@sionzion No... damn spam youtube comments are so annoying. I guess that's a sign that my channel is growing if I have spammers now lol. But ANY time you see a comment on RUclips (I mean..... 100% of the time) and they try to tell you to text a number or reach them on WhatsApp, it's 1000% a scam without question.
@Scott lol okay brother .
I too thought it was a scam .
Great video as always. Thought I would mention -- I love the Brian Fay system. But mine failed. But here is the good news - they made it super easy to get a replacement, and shipped it the very next day. great system, great company. Feel free to give me another one :)
Awesome! That’s always good to know that a company has a great return policy too!
Definitely will be watching more videos. Just found your channel tonight. Subscribe as well
I appreciate the simplicity I have been looking into setting up my own iem system.
I have a xr 18. With two phenix pro iems. Last thing I have been looking for is a set of wireless instrument. To be able to allow for less cables during load in and load out. Regardless if I win or not you for sure got a fan. Keep doing your thing
Nice setup! I have a xr18 as well as an x32, and the phenyx pro IEMs are great systems!
I had the G10 and it died on me within 3 months. Was looking at the G10S until I stumbled upon your videos. I'm going to try the Amoon first. Although they are not available on Amazon anymore I have noticed that you can purchase them from Walmart.
Lekato or getaria make good 5.8 ones 👍
I have the Getaria and a Westshell which has the same case as the swiff. I play bass and do not move around much but it is so nice to not have the cord.
Nice! And yeah that Westshell looks almost the exact same as the Swiff
Great video! I subscribed. I will try a few with my electric cello to check they work with that. Do you know which work best with electric violin?
So I would try the Swiff audio WS50 first and make sure it works for you 👍
My bass player uses a cheapo Westshell unit and tried to sell me on them. Maybe you've talked me into trying them out.
I love the NUX one for sure! It's definitely a "stronger" 5.8ghz system if people can afford it over the $50 ones.
Is it a good idea to get the Amazon protection plan when purchasing these???
I wouldn’t personally
More wireless goodies!! I find my cheap Lekato works better than my Boss system when using the X-vive U4 ears.
Yup! The less 2.4ghz the better. But that U4 does seem to do pretty well considering it's 2.4ghz
I'd love a free wireless system! I had an old system but it's on no longer legal frequencies so I don't use it anymore (ahem) but a legal system would be great! Thanks for your videos, they are really useful, informative, and entertaining! Cheers, Chris
I know, the fact that some of them became "illegal" is incredibly annoying for sure. I had to get rid of some old IEMs because of it too a while back
Do these wireless systems work with bass guitars as well
Most of them do. I can’t know every single pickup and guitar style, so my advice is to try it once you get it, and if it doesn’t work to return it. If you don’t want to risk that, save up money and get an entry level Shure or sennheiser system 👍
Thanks Sir ed masters😊
But using the tips in this video is a good way to use cheap gear well 👍
Subscribed. Great content.
Thank you! 🤘
