John, thank you so much for bringing my dad's knife back to life. He's 80 years old now, and I will show him this video. I know he's going to love it as much as I did. One day, I will pass this knife down to my oldest son. Thank you, brother, for the patience and beautiful work that you have done on this.❤
Great looking old knife. Just grind a little off of the “kick” and that will let the blade set a little lower in the handle. Just a little at a time tho. Take care.
Very nice to clean up these old gems ! There is the possibility, the tip was broken while prying... then reshaped ! I have a folding Kershaw for skinning that required that.
Bro. John, I like it!!! Some times you just have to let an old knife, be on old Knife!! I bet that knife could tell some stories!!! Happy New Year!!! 👍👍👍💯🗡️🔥🔥
Trimming the heal will for sure drop the point down.I have done it on several knives with a far worse gap with great results.Just remove a little bit at a time because you can’t put it back once it’s gone.I would not steer you wrong.👍
@ I saw that it’s missing part of the tip but I believe there is enough of the foot on the blade to put the blade tip down inside the knife body.I know it’s not your knife but it’s a very simple fix.👍🇺🇸

Couldn’t you grind down the kick on the blade so the blade would set down farther in the knife?
@@RadioGeekBlades if you see early in the video when I push down on the blade ..? I don’t think there is much room in there.

Oh it's a keeper. Good solid user. Love bringing old knives back, very therapeutic. Good stuff John. 🇺🇲👍
@@steveg.1502 very enjoyable hobby
Cleaned up nice 😊
Don't worry about that tip sticking up. Jus drop it into a sheath and roll with it. Great clean up.

Nice old survivor with a lot of good years left.
@@casexx94 plenty of years, thanks for viewing
Sweet. Nice clean up. Longs like you saved another one.
I have the two blade verison that I have had since 1965 in southeast aisa
I would grind the kick down a bit to lower the tip down into the frame when closed.
@@WoodsmanHobo777 I’m worried about the lower part of the blade hitting but I’ll try to measure the clearance
Very cool! I just put my Case Hunter Workman on my belt for the day
@@troyspurling1910 I need to find Cris a sheath
Nice video on the Old Case hunter.
@@frankblevins-w1e thanks, hope it was enjoyable
Pops broke the tip off and just re-profiled the blade. Still works

@@1OFGODSOWN no, it’s already down, the blade is missing nearly 1/2 inch

@ back spring is already starting to receed , I filed on it a little and didn’t think the knife will let me get that point all the way down
You better watch the knife doctor to see how to fix it God Bless America 🇺🇸 🙏
Any idea where I could get a Remington slip joint repaired?
How do you buy some of your oil? The website just shows me examples. No links or anything.
@@Kotah52 I will have the website up again soon. Shortly after the New Year.
@ ok cool I need to pick some up. I’ll be looking out
Looks like it’s already been reshaped, should be almost as long as the bolster.
@@garyb.4080 yes, it’s missing 3/8 or more of the tip
File the choil bump down until tip is inside blade channel
Just take a very very small part off of the kick of the knife.
@@thornekimroberts8502 not going to do it, missing too much of the knife
