Something that I thought was cool and sweet of Ben was when in this episode of "Ben 10 Omniverse" that even when the Deefus Veeblepister (whose name in of itself is hilarious) was playing Ben for Professor Hokestar's show told Ben that the name Sludge puppies were a slur, Ben was very quick to start using the proper term for the species. The fact that he has several cousins-by-marriage who are Lenopans only made this more heartwarming. Maybe the Tennyson's have N-Word Privileges and their Lenopan relatives never saw thought to bring it up? Still, it was nice to see Ben acting sensitive to others' feelings for once. (Though none of the Sludgepuppies seen before had any problem with being called that name which is odd when you think about it).
What I found odd was that Rook, with all his knowledge from his plumber academy days didn’t know Slugdepuppy was a slur, he looked confused when Deefus told him that. Though then again, the plumbers did create the term, probably wasn’t involved in their database.
Because there’s an obvious reason, it’s not a widely held belief even amongst lenopans that it’s a slur or most of them simply don’t care and this guy being an actor is likely the type of person to have a hightened awareness of that kinda thing and is more likely to find it offensive. Perhaps his cousins really don’t give a shit about being referred to as lenopan or sludge puppy
There’s also the fact that the way Ben said it here really did sound like he was insulting the guy. Some might have let it slide, but in this context I don’t blame the mistake
@@akumasstorytime3910 that's like saying a different ethnicity doesn't have the privileges to speak up if someone mistakenly calls them a slur that they didn't know was a slur 🤦♂️

2) that alien literally copycat of Ben, so kiinda hard to feel sorry for him That bar is a little low for a racial slur. Like its not just about the individual when it comes to things like this, You wouldn't call Orange Juice Simpson the N word with a hard R because what he did was horrid because that comes with the assumption that being black is the sin commited rather than killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. But what makes O.J. evil is that he killed his wife and her friend, him being black has nothing to do with it. Same with this guy, he is a thief but him being a lenopun has nothing to do with it. Although he did have completely original ideas and a cool design so it is really just the crime of copyright and trademark infringement as we have already seen in UAF Ben10 has his whole brand in the world of the story so its not really identity theft so its not a serious crime like what O.J did and I doubt you are calling him racial slurs. But yeah even if that guy killed Ben's family and wore there flesh that only reflects the individual sicko rather than the whole species, if the species as a whole are just normal and don't go around murdering people in horrific ways than it would be wrong to use the word Sludgepuppy if they were to exist.
Seems like only this guy finds it offensive. Lucy didnt mind one bit to the Sludgepuppy name. Really its just a term the Plumbers used before they learned the real name. Not the first time humanity gave a nickname to a species.
There is retconning something to be called something else and then there's retconning something to now be a slur. You know for a fact it didn't mean that in the original considering Ben, Max and Gwen said it repeatedly but most importantly Joel the first human to fall in love with and MARRY and sludgepuppy said it and so did Lucy his Sludgepuppy Daughter and Camille his wife, at least one of them would have brought this up. Or the parents of the bride who turned out to be the villains of the episode and hated humans, there is no way they wouldn't have.
I can 100% believe this, as the name “sludgepuppy” was a name coined by the plumbers during the war against the Lenopans. So it would make sense that the name would be a slur against them when you think about it.
In Ben's defense, he didn't know that it was a slur. And to be fair, nobody told him that it is. Besides, I doubt that he said that with the intention of offending him.
Lenopans are the species names, Sludgepuppy is a nickname given by the Plumbers, but given how the word can be used some would consider it an insult, slur or offensive word. Creative of the writers I would never have thought of that
I'm guessing that sludgepuppy is like the N-word in this case... If you are not one, you can not use it, and if you have the pass, it's soft A not hard R.

What I found odd was that Rook, with all his knowledge from his plumber academy days didn’t know Slugdepuppy was a slur, he looked confused when Deefus told him that.
Though then again, the plumbers did create the term, probably wasn’t involved in their database.
Maybe this guy's just a weirdo. Like middle-aged women who get mad because they were called a Karen.
Or this guy is a sludgepuppy justice warrior
In defense of Ben:
1) He literally didn't know any better since nobody told him better, neither his human or sludge puppy side
And
2) that alien literally copycat of Ben, so kiinda hard to feel sorry for him 😅
Right! Ben didn't know at all 💯💯
2) that alien literally copycat of Ben, so kiinda hard to feel sorry for him
That bar is a little low for a racial slur.

Oh yea.... no wonder the purple oozed ones looked familiar... and their species r called ledoporan's? Interesting
no wonder younger him was so ready to say hairy nxgga in the other purposefully racist episode
Seems like only this guy finds it offensive. Lucy didnt mind one bit to the Sludgepuppy name. Really its just a term the Plumbers used before they learned the real name. Not the first time humanity gave a nickname to a species.
That’s cus Ben has the S-Word pass. He’s family
And he can turn into aliens so technically he gets all passes
@Ggnkrsfkoqxbk Yes😊
@Ggnkrsfkoqxbk yes he can say nibbler
I don't think he used the term around Lucy or directly called her it
There is retconning something to be called something else and then there's retconning something to now be a slur. Or the parents of the bride who turned out to be the villains of the episode and hated humans, there is no way they wouldn't have.
the day that ben realised he was basically saying the n word
this definitely has the same energy as "bro chill i have family that are black" LOL

I can 100% believe this, as the name “sludgepuppy” was a name coined by the plumbers during the war against the Lenopans. So it would make sense that the name would be a slur against them when you think about it.
"Sludgepuppy stole my bike"
📸🤨
My head canon is that his cousin thought it was funny that Ben didn’t know it was a slur. And that’s why she enjoyed it everytime he said it.
it definitely feels like a cousin thing to do. to just mess with him and never correct him to see how long it takes before he learns
Bro was throwing the S word around like that
In Ben's defense, he didn't know that it was a slur. And to be fair, nobody told him that it is. Besides, I doubt that he said that with the intention of offending him.
Man that Ben knockoff is a real sludgepuppy!
📸🤨
Ben rlly pulled the "I have lenopan cousins so I can't be racist"
You can say blood water
I like his Predator claws
Lenopans are the species names, Sludgepuppy is a nickname given by the Plumbers, but given how the word can be used some would consider it an insult, slur or offensive word. Creative of the writers I would never have thought of that
He has a pass for it considering that he has cousins for them and he can transform into any alien
I'm guessing that sludgepuppy is like the N-word in this case...
If you are not one, you can not use it, and if you have the pass, it's soft A not hard R.
Ben really just accepted he was in the wrong ane apologized, which is really nice but also really funny bc that lenopan is still impersonating him 😭 KCMWNDNEN
Did Ben just say the alien n-word?
yes lmao
Imagine how this scene would sound if he actually said a real one 😅
I'm still gonna use it
This may be the most mature thing in Omniverse. And that's saying a lot.
How about servantis when he brainwash kids and experimented on them and also kidnap them to do his bidding in order to assassinate a young Ben or when the entire Multiverse gets destroyed and no watch Ben is the only one left in an emotional moment or when Rook teacher Master Kendo gets turned into a mutated monster or when Ben loses feedback and then later regain some of you either didn't watch the show or you just don't remember that much about it cuz I have a whole list of mature moments
Omniverse is more mature than his OG 2005 counterpart Omniverse Ben sacrificed himself to save no watch Ben and gave us these words it's just a gadget be the hero where as uaf Ben 10 already almost gave up when he lost his Omnitrix uaf Ben 10 was not the best boyfriend as he has cheated on his girlfriend twice and there's an episode when there was that escaped prisoner he makes a joke at the end after that with that episode being one of the darkest Ben 10 episodes as that guy lost his family and everybody looks at Ben cuz it's the wrong place wrong time to make a joke Omniverse Ben didn't give up at all during the incursion War Arc in the world seemed as though that would have been the safe move he instead makes a strategy to infiltrate them and succeeds how about the malware Arc where Ben must learn from his past losses or the amalgam Kids Arc unlike his uaf counterpart he does not go out of his way to kill Kevin even though Kevin brainwashed manipulated to kill him as a child Ben still tries to save his friend and not outright kill him in fact the amalgam kids Arc might be one of the darkest arcs in Ben 10 as it with the deals of brainwashing children and kidnapping them to kill another child or how he creates a brilliant strategy to hide the Chrono Navigator by making a map and making the treasure be hidden in the first part of the map which even Gwen says is brilliant and in that episode we see the difference in the personalities from his present self and Omniverse and his past self which is major plus the reason why he acts chill most of the time is because there's barely any threats which is what we see in episode 3 of Omniverse there is barely any threats all the villains are running away from him he's probably a little bit Rusty as he hasn't really battled that many Top Dog villains it's not until malware and Khyber come into the picture that he does for comparison in the episode duped for uaf Ben he creates clones of himself just so he can see a movie instead of spending time with his girlfriend and then when his girlfriend asked if he wants to go see the movie that he's been wanting to watch he says he already watched it and he laughs at an interview that a guy that she looks up to and in his face and she calls them a terrible boyfriend and in the episode eye of the beholder Ben is reluctant to help his girlfriend out because she broke up with him even though her pet which is dangerous might be in trouble he doesn't even try to help until later even though the sky supposed to be a hero he's reluctant to help someone in need while mind controlled Omniverse Ben resisted it by reminding himself and the audience of what being a true hero is in the mind control is plaguing him by making him see his selfish desires but it doesn't work because he knows what it means to be a true hero no I'm not saying Omniverse Ben is perfect I'm just saying that is actually more mature than initially than what some people in the past thought as now Omniverse is getting praise compared to what it used to be but I recommend re-watching Omniverse again but this time in the actual order I recommend looking at the Ben 10 Wiki for this by searching up Ben 10 Omniverse on the Ben 10 Wiki and click on episodes to actually watch the show properly as Cartoon Network for some reason in the 2010s was messing up some shows that did not air in the right order Star Wars the Clone Wars was among these anywhere else besides the point the point is the Omniverse Ben is way more mature than what you gave him credit for as he has plenty of mature and great battle strategy moments Omniverse got dark when it need to just like the OG series however uaf was practically almost all the time dark both literally and storytelling and in the actual Arts style in the show because they're always at night I assure you this Omniverse Ben is way more mature than his 2005 OG counterpart as that when we committed criminal activity because he didn't get a chance to play a sumo Slammers game and is running from police and causing destruction and actively participate in these acts and previously he would use hero guilt to get what he wants with Gwen calling him out on that while in comparison Omniverse Ben while being mind-controlled resist the same type of Temptations that his OG counterpart wouldn't have resisted while transform mind you as Big chill resisting his natural Predators mind control meaning it's way more stronger than the average mind control showing he has great willpower

Mature as in characters being adults and addressing realistic and controversial issues in a rational way. Not anything deep and dark, but this one moment reflects Ben's standing about different species on earth and across the universe. Pretty much because Ben has been transformed into dozens of species that he's the less likely person to be discriminatory. This is the kind of mature the commenter is talking about, I believe.
HE WAS ACTUALLY A REAL CHARACTER?? (talking about the one who transformed back)
Oje of the few good "thats an offensive term" jokes that isnt the writers trying to indirectly take jabs at someone

Whenever fiction tries replicating the n-word it just comes off corny, in this instance, it's just funny.
Reminder lucy is a freak who likes it when ben calls her it
Or she wasn't really in the Plumber Vs Lonopun war so it doesn't really affect her as it would with others.
The slur was probably invented by the plumbers to dehumanize them (They aren't humans so desentientize? To make people forget the fact they are living individuals with there own lives, families, motivations and all that, you know what I mean)
And she lives in a rather human community that doesn't know of the slur she never had it used against her, she mightn't even know its a slur either until she learnt more of history or began to talk to other species.
I hope Grampa Max didn't know it was a slur when he was saying it though. . .
SHE FREAKY FREAKY!
@@JubulusPrime I hope he knew, and if we are to be logical, how could he not know? I am very happy for Grandpa Max, in our time of widespread tolerance, when even someone who cuts out an entire family cannot be called a dwarf or Some other way, because "it offends him"
I mean it WAS a term used during the conflict between Plumbers and Lenopans. Makes sense it wasn't the nicest of ways to refer to them lol.
0:23 Dude that sound’s like a butt thing
New slur found
Where'd Ben learn it or did he just come up with it on the fly
Max first used that word and he said that it's what the Plumbers called them when they were at war with them. So it kind of makes sense why it's a derogatory term.
Whats that sludge puppy's name i know lucy
So i have an intuition that this was the ben 10 young one was talking about

I don't think "Sludgepuppy" is a racial slur, is just stupid, even cousin Lucy is fine with the word "Sludgepuppy"
If this is a racial slur(I know I’m probably late) it wouldn’t surprise me if one of the aliens he names is also racist like…stinkfly?gray matter?
Most definitely lol. And since Ben's famous around the Galaxy they probably got an entire in universe wiki about Ben's aliens being slur names.
