Thank you! It varies - so at the time of recording, it was always a straight build into Squarespace. Now we offer higher paying clients (eg. $20k+) the option of having the whole design built in Figma first to give them some really cool custom graphics and elements

This is fantastic content, thank you so much Sam. I'm curious about how you pitch on sites such as Upwork. There's nothing more demotivating for me than trying to pitch my website builds to buyers who are genuinely expecting to pay no more than $250 for a website. How do you handle this? Do you just pitch your cost, or do you ignore these job posts and only pitch to those who have realistic expectations (there aren't many that I've seen!). Thank you!
Thank you Tom! These sites are usually quite a race to the bottom, which is why I place it lower down on my tier list for landing work. They're good for a foot in the door and then you want to start building out more and meeting clients higher up the ladder before they reach UpWork, etc. I have a newer video that details this a bit more here: ruclips.net/video/LJCqKgFcxi4/видео.html Hope this helps!
Hi Sam! Love your videos. It changed totally my mindset how I look at the business. I’m in the Webflow niche tho but find these videos super informative as well. Question: do you also offer some sort of MRR package or service?
Love to hear this! Happy I can help. In terms of MRR, I don't offer this overtly. Some clients ask me to stay onboard with a monthly retainer (around $1000) to add things to the site. This only tends to work with huge companies though who are always updating their site. The MRR model probably works better with WordPress due to needing to always update plugins, supply reports, etc. but with no code builders, all the work is done for the client automatically so it'd be a bit sly for me to charge for 'updates' if that makes sense?

@@wongsrila Amazing! We actually have a tonne of non-Squarespace members too. Webflow, WordPress, General devs, etc. It's about 90% biz and then 10% Squarespace-specific. But even then if you switch 'Squarespace' for whatever your platform is, you'll get the benefit. More than happy to hop on a call too if you need any more info! Ps. You can get the entire first module for free if you visit the landing page. So you can see the teaching style and whether it's something you'd find beneficial.

I have quite a contrarian perspective on this which I'll have to make a separate video on, but basically - if a client isn't going to pay you, there isn't a contract in the world that will change that. Unless we're talking $25k+ we're realistically never going to take a client to court (international most of the time), so why add the extra layer of friction? It's a net negative. Or at least that's my opinion!
Okay, thank you. That helps. I find a lot of people are offering monthly plans which guarantees some consistent income cushion. However, value could go down if clients want constant changes etc. especially clients could at any point cancel for whatever reason which is not good there the monthly cushion.
He said he was a web developer so that likley means he is making money after spending hours and year and some how also months looking for employment!!!!
I get where you’re coming from 100% but there is room for every one of us to make 10k+ per month. If I can continue to scale my own business (currently at $65k/mo since this video) AND educate others, why wouldn’t I? Selfishly, I can make a lot more money whilst helping others do the same. On top of that, if you don’t want to pay, I have literally given away the blueprint for free. Did you watch this full video?

I don't personally, because every single project is bespoke, thus requiring bespoke pricing. I find it impossible to give packaged prices!
