Acc. to literature point of view the book which manmohan was going through doesn’t have last page Nd it was a love story but its ending was’nt predictable on the other hand his love story wid a girl has also came to the peak but it remained incomplete forever because he died their ending was sad...it can be guessed that their love story was similar to the book it was related ,the ending of the book was sad which manmohan wasn’t aware of😇.The author left the ending up to d reader’s.
maybe there was no book and all these were just thoughts in his head. Like figments of his imagination.

Since Manmohan had read the 20 times and be longed for love the whole thing phone ringing and woman talk was all hallucination because of that book. Living on street before not eating properly staying at dirty office caused him ill so due to illness as well he started imaging what was written in the book. If last pages were there he may have saved himself

He couldn't read the end of the story while we were greeted with his unexpected death instead of showing the aftermath of his death and more of The Girl on the phone...

But the positive thing is at some point somewhere at some time after they are long gone some people remember them through their work and that is their victory!
