We do have a compost pit at our home, I was expecting something which can crush whole food waste and push the crushed waste to that compost pit. Would have been a wonderful feature if that's possible (pit is 10-15 metres away from sink). Whatever you provided is just water and electricity wastage solution.
.75HP doesn't sound powerful at all in our conversion funny how that actually has an effect on you (i believe it's approximately 3/4 hp in the term i'm used to btw ) also tea bags will be fine, just don't put too many staples or strings whatever down it
