A profound and timeless masterpiece of form and melody.-- I can't explain why exactly, but I feel that this piece ought to be played as closely as possible to how it was originally designed, and intended: an A basset horn, playing the original solo melody. Obviously an inspired moment from Mozart, the entire concerto was written in three days!-- or so they say, as it were.
