Thank you so much for making this video, I have always felt that this song is about Kawoshin, as well as the whole movie. If there is a person that Shinji should be with it's Kaworu. Kaworu was represented as his ideal lover both in original NGE and in Rebuilds- in End of Evangelion movie Kaworu appears in front of Shinji as his most desired person, just like how everyone else had their lover/crush appear in front of them. And in Rebuilds these two were represented as star-crossed lovers, on the official poster for the movie the two of them sit under the Altar and Vega stars, stars of two lovers who are deemed to fall in love but to be separated everytime by external forces. At the end of 3.0 Kaworu and Shinji get separated by force, and for whole 45 minutes of 3.0+1.0 Shinji is crying over Kaworu, so much so that he can't eat or sleep. He imagines that Kaworu is next to him, saying: "You need to find your own place that you can call home. The bonds will show you the way. We'll meet again, Shinji-kun." to what Shinji responds: "You're right, Kaworu-kun." And so what does Shinji do? He wants to find his own place in the world and with the help of the people around him he achieved that. He erased Evangelions from the world and he let everyone find their own place in the world. And by doing so he has made sure that he'll meet Kaworu again. When he opened his eyes in the ending scene Kaworu's face was the first face he saw. He was alive, as Shinji wanted. And Kaworu has promised him that even if Evangelions are erased they'll still meet, as he wrote their names in the Book of Life. So sad that in the end they chickened out and they showed Mari with Shinji instead of Kaworu, and now we have people thinking that Shinji somehow "loves" Mari when he has spent almost half of the movie crying and thinking about Kaworu. Mari is not Shinji's destined lover, Kaworu is. And as the legend of starcrossed lovers goes, they'll meet each other again and again, until they're able to be together and not be separated. Kawoshin is also the only pairing that got compared to the other two canonical pairings- Gendo & Yui and Misato & Kaji. Misato and Shinji are a parallel to Kaji and Kaworu, and this was something shown even in ep 24, because both Misato and Shinji lost their loved ones. Kaworu & Shinji are paralleled fully with Gendo & Yui, meaning that Kaworu is Gendo to Shinji's Yui and Shinji is Gendo to Kaworu's Yui. Kawoshin is one of the THREE main love pairings. And I like to tie it with the name THRICE upon a time... This song also talks about losing someone you loved, and it ties perfectly with Kawoshin. Kaworu is Shinji's and Shinji is Kaworu's. I could write even more as to why they're perfect, but I'll just say that it's certain that they still love each other in the ending scene and that they'll meet again. Never forget that ONLY KAWORU AND NO ONE ELSE is represented as Shinji's LOVER, both in End of Evangelion and Rebuilds ❤️

挺好的翻唱。这也是我看到的第一个合唱版本。只是大概3:40的时候最后一句“I love you more than you‘ll ever know” 拉到太长了，而且最后3:50的那一段两个声音分开来唱不太好，因为这不是个“干净”的结尾。
但感覺像暗示薰漸漸跟不上真嗣的感覺 有點虐，但和薰一直守護真嗣的劇情呼應了
我個人比較喜歡這個結尾，有種薰本人和他的時間停留在原地，但真嗣卻連帶著對他的思念與兩人回憶漸漸向未來走去的感覺。或許結尾的「不乾淨」也是一種思念吧
