Dimash has since expanded his ranges as well as grown tremendously as a vocalist/composer/performer/artiste/musician.
Nice reaction... This is simply my opinion, but i kinda agree with you... i'm born in generation where classic/opera isnt popular genre as many of my friend of similar age leaning more toward modern music... But as i often time spend times with people older than my age, i start to listen more on the classic which in their own way has jts own charm... So when i heard dimash perform i can feel the modern touch in the classic/opera like singing n vice versa... That is what i like about dimash, he is like a bridge that connect 2 different generation n show to world old doesn't mean obsolete, n new doesn't mean better...

It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 12 languages and speaks 3 so far.
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! When Dimash was gonna go in to the other contestants he again turned to his father and asked him if he done good! That’s the kind of man he is humble, loving and respectful.

Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 17 or 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

He didn’t win the completion they say its because he wasn’t Chinese. But I don’t know if that’s right or not! They change the rules next year. But he got the most out of it and was most known after this. Got lots of awards and other things to. So he won the audience and the Chinese people.

But, one thing, he was 5 when he begun with his training.
You have just scratched the surface of what this guy is capable of in terms of singing, presentation, personality.... )) He is gonna to surprise you with almost every song. Every time you think that you know everything about him, he rocks you again, and again, and again.

Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch." He graduated from classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English and studies Mandarin Chinese. He sings in 12 languages.
He has received countless awards and distinctions at home and abroad. After competing in "I am a singer" in China 2017 he became famous all over the world. He postponed his ARNAU tour due to the pandemic, events that he will resume as soon as the conditions are met. He is also a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (6). He has ventured as an advertising model, actor, dancer and audiovisual director. (He directed the video of him Qairam Elim). He is just 27 years old and is 1.91 m (6.3 ft) tall. He lives in his country Kazakhstan.

The most craziest thing with this song is that when I heard this 2017 version of Dimash’s SOS for the first time I thought it the most perfect and amazing performance ever, but then came Slavic Bazar 2018 version, and then UAE performance, and then from his Digital Concert this year. And each time it’s more and more perfect, amazing, emotional, mesmerising, although it seems impossible to be so. Dimash is such an incredible, talented, disciplined, hard-working and humble person! 👉 This was a historic moment and the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears (This is what Dimash calls us fans.) This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight.
In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew or hear Dimash before and he also had to start first... and after this song Dimash captured the hearts of millions of viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood at his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds, over 4 months. The jury consists of 500 spectators. With up to 1 billion people see this tv-program, that's generated international interest. The performances were uploaded to RUclips... and so, we became Dimash’s Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned that Dimash would survive two episodes of the competition and go home again. They didn't really believe in him. But Dimash came, sang and stayed... for the next 3 years in China... but he only finished second in the competition because he's not Chinese (conditions have changed: The next year, Jessie J. won).
👉 In January 2021 Dimash was one of the few foreigners who has been asked to attend the live online show marking the inauguration of the President of U.S.A. Joe Biden. He is here as a representative of his country Kazakhstan and he is also here for his Dears from all over the world. This is the first time in the 67-year history of the Sister Cities and the first time since relations between the United States and the concentration camp began (almost 30 years ago) that an artist from Kazakhstan has attended such an event.

I just heard him two days ago and I couldn’t function for two days after I heard this song. I literally couldn’t do anything after hearing this song. It took me out of this world. This performance is only the tip of the iceberg.This beautiful song: "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" was written more than 20 years before Dimash Qudaibergen was born, but he definitely made it his forever, when Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger composed it, they didn't have an idea, they didn't imagine who was going to be his definitive owner. I also enjoy other Dimash's versions of this song that are always in a unique and masterful way (my favorite is "SOS, Slavic Bazaar"). For those who have just started this long journey to the magical world that opens with the celestial sound which comes from Dimash's throat, it will be a before and an after in their lives, but it will be for the better. Beleive me I'm not exagerating.

He's broken so many records with what he can do, especially being a Man! And you mentioned one of the best things he does (for me anyway), and that's putting pieces of every genre in the songs he sings, like opera, Pop, rock, etc etc etc, and makes it feel and sound like it is supposed to be that way!! Its a beautiful French song from a 1970s rock opera called "Starmania". Dimash is here an eatrthling in distress calling SOS (the title of the song). The lyrics are mesmerizing, when you know them and listen to the song is an enhanced experience. It is also his first appearance in a great Chinese Show "The Singer" where he ranked second I think. He wasnt talking French or English by the time (22 years old here), he sang them phonetically. After this he won millions Chinese fans and more worldwide since all his appearances were otherwordly. This was a chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition and it is about to start his doctorate in Musicology.
