May 67 Can we love beauty pageants? Can we also love judging and having sense of humor? Can we also respect opinions? And we also be Honest? Can we also love being intelligent? Can we also have STANDARDS? Do you what standards are? She did not deserve to win. She did not even try. She knew that she could win because people are so afraid to be called racist or shallow. Well those people who are afraid are all stupid. Miss Mexico was the clear winner and Miss Puerto Rico deserve to win too. But Miss South Africa who comes from a country that is Recognized as an English speaking nation is not even half as eloquent as the two Latina queen. Miss Thailand in the Top 5 worked very hard for this pageant and she could have been given the chance. But no, they want the girl with no hair. The judges were all Female. If the judges were men or gay, she will not be in the top 40.
Booing someone that invested just as much as her fellow contestants reflects poorly on you. The way she stood there and composed herself shows someone who can do well in a leadership role. She goes on to give Puerto Rico their highest placement since 2001. If anything, you applaud a girl when she's struggling on stage, whether it's Madison or not. Judges vote on the total package that was presented to them, not just one phase of competition. Who on that stage could give their country the best chance of winning Miss Universe. It was Madison.
What a courageous woman to compete for such a prestigious title in her second language. The legacy of Miss PR Universe is elite (along with USA SA India Venezuela) and she held represented PR beautifully.

As a Puerto Rican I kinda feel bad and ashamed the way that the crowd didn’t believe in her and they didn’t wanted her to represent Puerto Rico for the simple fact that she was born and raised in U.S beside her mom was Puerto Rican. I understand that the island sometimes doesn’t have a good relationship with the U.S but being racist toward her for the simple fact that she is half American IT’S NOT CORRECT. I really think that there’s a big issue of nationalism in Puerto Rico and I’m tired that people think that racism only happens to black people and not a white or Asian person (it’s something that someone have to talk and make conscious in the society that racism can happens to everybody and not just because of a skin color, we have a wrong idea about what it’s racism is.) But I’m glad that she shut the mouth to everyone who didn’t believe in her even if she didn’t won the crown for the island she did a great job and she did represent well our country Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

i don’t believe it should be a problem that madison answers in english. in miss universe philippines/binibining pilipinas they speak english, and the winners of the pageants go on to international ones, where they are usually asked to speak the main base of english so i don’t understand why she is getting booed being able to speak a certain language doesn’t make you a miss universe it’s your drive and compassion that do

Si importa la respuesta acá pero lo que pasó con Madison es que el jurado la conocía muy bien y todos entendían que ella no entendía y no hablaba muy bien el español so’ hizo lo que pudo, pero ellos sabían que en inglés se expresaría muchísimo mejor. Esto solo pasaba con Madison. Creeme que si fuera otra chica por mas bella que fuera no ganaba. I think she's struggling with Spanish
Shikhaa Sharma she was born and grew up in the US. Thats why she doesnt speak spanish in daily basis.
During her questions, especially the first one, she was most likely nervous and with a bit of doubt. When it's not your first language plus the situation, it's hard. The final question she was much better because she already warmed up and it was regarding domestic violence, her cause. She speaks Spanish, but being in the United States all her life (Puerto Rican born in the United States), she didn't get a chance to speak it constantly, which is expected, and the rustiness showed. Many others go through this too. However, the fighter and determined one she is, she improved her Spanish by aiming to be a true part of Puerto Rican society and immersing herself in the culture and society.
