  • This is a special episode of the show which was inspired by the recent return of Prova Cars and the upsurge of interest in Countach replicas now the real Lamborghini's have risen in value.
    First we visit the company for our interview with Gerald Dunbar, the managing director of the newly reborn Prova to find out the story behind the return of this well known Lamborghini Countach replica.
    For more information go to www.provadesigns.co.uk
    Special thanks to Richard Downer and Prova for supplying the excellent drone and promo video footage used in this video. Do check out Richards RUclips channel DronerUK
    Next we visit Terry Fox for an owner and builders perspective on living with a Countach replica. Obviously we will have to wait to find out what the new Prova kits will be like, but some of you may be tempted to buy a second hand unfinished Countach replica and Terry has plenty of experience.
    Thank you for watching

    My countach kit is coming Saturday can’t wait to start building it. Took me a long time to find, its a started build but never seen day light and the best bit it’s all mine. now my child hood dream is now a really. Yes I will be filming the build step buy step so any one wants to come along throw the highs and lows of my struggle to build and complete the car please tune in. I see my self as extremely lucky to have obtained this car and to be one of the few that can say my dream will be a reality, from a picture on my wall as a kid to being able to own one is truly mad. The original countach has so many flaws and well I was going to say poor design faults more rushed production fault that a kit version can be better than a real one. For me making this so iconic car will be just if not better than driving it. I’m bouncing off all the Walls in my house weighing for it to be delivered. No matter how you get there If you want your dreams bard enough they will come true

      A lot of people still don't understand that an original Lamborghini Countach are by all accounts horrible to drive and are heavy on maintenance. So building somewhat modern running gear in it, you can now quite easily drive a Countach everyday without spending £300,000 - £400,000. And like you say, without destroying an original.
      It really does make a lot of sense

    • @enwins

      @@rickmellor yes, of course.
      Most Countach replicas have a single outer body moulding, which meant that builders needed to box in the inside to hide the bare grp inside.
      The manufacturer mentioned made inner panels and separated the one piece body into sections, which reduced warping and made for a better quality finish

      Of course you could use that engine. At a huge cost, both in initial purchase price and then with servicing it. It doesn't really make financial sense when you can get the same bang for buck from a slightly smaller European V8-V10. That will still sound amazing.

      It's no different than people who own a real Ferrari 250 GTO, keep it forever in their garage while they drive an almost perfect replica of it. Does that happen? Absolutely.
      But here's the thing. Why does it matter to you what others do?
      I haven't met any replica Countach owners that think their car is a Lamborghini.
      Some people may buy one of these because they like the looks of the Countach but want modern power and reliability for a hell of a lot less than a £300,000+ real one. That costs a small fortune to own and aren't always very reliable, and are also not the most friendly of cars to drive. Plus doing any performance mods to it would ruin it's value. With a replica that won't happen.
      Are they for everybody? No. So move along then.

  • @barryphillips7327
    @barryphillips7327 4 года назад

    Pointless having what looks like a Countach but sounds NOTHING like the magnificent V12 of a real Countach. Worse still it is a German engine gearbox, as if the Germans do not already have a big enough hand in MANY vehicles, newer Mini,s, Rolls Royce, Range Rover to name but a few, NO THANKS!

    • @briankemp2290
      @briankemp2290 4 года назад +4

      The original V12 is a fantastic boat anchor compared to modern engines.
      The Audi V8 is far more powerful and more reliable.
      The braking and hydraulic systems will be much better nowadays to handle the power.
      These new kits are far better than the original factory cars.

      @barry phillips No one says you even have to buy one to begin with. If it's not to your taste just walk on buy. It really is that simple. But who says you can't put a Lambo V12 in it? It'd be your car so if you want to spend £20,000 over £5,000, that is cheaper to run, cheaper to maintain and with the right mods has comparable, if not better, ponies for a lot less and is more economical, then it makes a lot of sense. Good luck in finding a real Countach for under £100,000. Oh wait, good luck finding one for under £300,000 that is anywhere near as reliable as a modern car.
      Have a nice day,🤘
